Fat Bastard

Nice work. Didn’t you know that lunges aren’t for ugly people? oh wait, Meat does them. Does that mean he is pretty? I am confused.

Could the problem you’re having with the knee when squating be throwing of your balance on the lunges?

I’m not sure Pete. Meat may be an acrobat or something.

Harry, I had so many flexibility issues I’m not sure whats going on. I just know any squatting motion parallel or below doesn’t agree with my right knee. I’m thinking a tight IT band.

Actually, this is similar to my left knee issue and squatting. And stance. My left knee of course has had about 25 years of issues now, and a botched surgery, but I am finding I am starting to get back into the groove a) with flexibility work b) with lesser weight, more repetive attempts to find what stance will work (see my DE work, I love it for that factor alone) and c) with really concentrating on pushing out the knees and opening the hips. I never had to concentrate on pushing out the knees and opening the hips, but when my flexibility goes to shit (right now a lot due to cold weather and being fat) it really fucks with my squat.

I mixed my drinks a little to strong last night. I guess 3/4 whiskey, 1/4 gingerale in a quart sized glass is a bad idea on a Thursday night. Gonna do some bodybuilder upper body stuff tonight. Have to work on the guns.

Shit happens. I used to have those nights and say ‘I am never doing that again’ then I realized I meant ‘I am not doing that for another couple weeks’.

maybe look into a pair of knee sleeves. i wear knee wraps once the weight starts to get moderate. i start with a cheep pair of inzer wraps wrapped very light and then move up to tighter and then to my competition wraps, loose and then tighter. i find that the pressure keeps everything tight in my knee. the loose wraps do nothing to help the lift but do keep my knees healthy.

it’s all about finding ways to stay healthy. i get shit all the time for my elbow sleeves but guess what i don’t have any elbow issues and then i can go into a competition a push heavy shit without them.

pete should be happy… even though i’m a rawdog, i still have a little bit of gearwhore in me.

That, and the fact you have admitted now to being a pink bear have made getting out of bed worthwhile.

I’ve said that many times. Usually it’s after the bottle’s empty. Then my wife buys me another and it starts all over again. I should have stomach cancer in no time.

I may have to look into the sleeves. I have a good pair of wraps I may start using for all working sets.

Don’t forget to get a good pair of lifting straps.

Story of my life right there…

1/24
1a.fat bar CGB barx15,109x15,159x15,199x15,249x5,289x3,309x1,1
1b.bowflwx seated row 6 sets 15-20 reps
1c.front neck raises 25x15 35x10,10
2a.bowflex flyes 160x25,15
2b.fat bar chins BWx5x2+3 cheat reps
2c. lateral into front raise 20’s x20,12+3 cheat reps
3a.fat bar curls 3 sets-last set was a drop down set
3b.dips BWx15,15,15

95% pain free shoulder today. Combo of the close grip and fat bar may do the trick. I went easy with the neck raises because I wanted to be able to lift my head tomorrow. My bis and forearms got a great pump.

Nice. Good to hear the shoulder’s feeling better.

You gettin’ ice tonight?

I’m excited about the shoulder. I hope it keeps up.

We’re supposed to get ice and then 3 inches of rain. State wide flash flood warning. What about you guys up there??

About the same. Nasty, nasty, nasty.

DID YOU SAY NECK RAISES???

nice work

ok sorry about that I get excited for stuff like that.
I cant do much neck work…
I might try to add those back slowly as neck bridges weighted or unweighted - are off the menu…

In North east PA this morning we had this frozen mist that made our blacktop like black ice,
NYC it just rained a little.

SteelD, take it slow tomorrow. I’m planning on leaving 1/2 hour early for work. I would rather have 2 feet of snow than ice.

Yes Kevin I said neck. I’ve been meaning to add neck in for a bit now. I just kept forgetting. Black ice is scarry. All of the suuden you’re going sidways thinking,‘‘oh, shit!!’’. I slid off the road and hit a tree a couple years ago.

You guys be careful, I imagine you get really nasty weather.

Nice work, Steve. Fat bar CGB sounds like a killer.

Ice sucks. It is way worse than snow. Very unpredictable.
