Farmer's Walk Form: Traps Stretched or Contracted?

Question for CT or anyone else knowledgeable:

When doing farmer’s walks for hypertrophy/strength, should you let the weight “hang” lower so that your traps are in a stretched position, or should you hold the weight up so that your traps/upper back are basically in an isometric hold as you walk (shoulders roughly parallel to the ground)?

You want to maintain a good posture. So while you can let your stretch stretch, we don’t want the shoulders to slouch.

Thank you CT! You’re the man.
