Farmer's Log 2

So your tarpezius [sic] muscles got shrugged last night, then?

Power snatch

Behind neck press in full squat position
3 x 5 x bar

Explosive chins
3 x 4 x bw

Dimel deadlifts
2 x 20 x 154 lbs

YTWs

I don’t know what the behind neck press done in a full squat is called. I saw it on a youtube video, but I couldn’t make out the name of it. Despite having no weight on the bar I find these REALLY challenging. I have to work very hard to hold that position. I’m going to start performing them as part of my warm up each session, in the hope that they might get more comfortable.

It was 32.7 C tonight.[/quote]

I’m gonna have to look up most of these!
Even not knowing what they are, seems like serious volume!

I was thinking Portugal would be nice to visit, but I ain’t planning on staying with you mate! I am way too much of a pussy to deal with dogs, outdoor toilets and no wine cellar.

Good work and good read. Post some more pics!

I spent far too much time trying to come up with a clever play on words as a response, but I couldn’t think of one. Damn you.

Well I’ve found out what the behind the neck press with a snatch grip in a full squat is called. It’s called Sott’s press, named after someone called Sott apparently. Should save me a lot of time writing my log.

Hey, hey, hey we’re not Neanderthals you know. For your information the toilet is actually inside, INSIDE. And if you were to visit I’d make sure it was on the side of the house which has the roof.

As for wine, we made 150 litres of our own last year from a mix of red and white grapes in the old fashioned way, no additives or chemicals, nothing but grapes. AND I can vouch for the fact that it’s the chemicals in wine that give you the headache. We haven’t had one single hangover from drinking our wine… now it could be because we don’t drink a lot of it because it tastes like piss, but I like to think it’s the lack of chemicals.

I’ll try and post some pics, so you can marvel at the squalour I live in.

I’m going to stick with 132 lbs on the snatches until I really “own” the weight, until every single rep is a blinder, because I know as soon as I put up the weight my form is going to go straight in the shitter.

The explosive chins and power snatches were explosive and powerful in name only. I attempted to move everything quickly, but my body had other ideas.

I am sore all over from roofing for 4 straight days. All that crabbing across the roof, carrying stacks of heavy tiles down scaffolding, and kneeling and hammering in unusual positions is tiring stuff and made all the worse I think by not being a fan of heights and holding myself rigid the whole time. I actually had cramp in my toes last night from trying to grip the ladder with my feet!

You’re really Atlas in Brett’s clothing?

You’re a Master of the Universe whose specialty is of course financial legerdemain?

There was an article a while back about staying at a weight until you own it. I"m terrible at folloing that but it seemed to make sense.

A log full of snatches and wine!!! I normally love and adore dogs but not 3 snarling ones.

Good stuff Farmer. Have a great summer.

Sounds like you need to work a lot more roofing in your routine. : )

nice work going on in here

Almost made it to 100 degrees huh. Sounds like a pleasant training temperature many days here in the land close to Mickey’s house.

Do you do a hang snatch with squat, just curious because you said your shoulders are a problem with the full snatch.

I’m not normally on the sauce, but when I am, I am on dbol. (that there is a reference to the DosEquis beer commercials, and no there have been no needles in my routine) California time, not that late for me.

When I see the word “shrugged” I always think of “Atlas Shrugged”; and I think of you as a smart wolf in sheeple clothing (the whole I’m just a farmer thing). So…

When I see the word tarp, I always think of TARP which imho is the biggest highway robbery of the American people perpetuated by the greatest robber baron of them all Henry Paulson. In their heyday top traders on WallStreet were sometimes referred to as Masters of The Universe; I guess when you got paid millions sometimes hundreds of millions to push “financially engineered” paper around I can see why…

Scary I wrote that stone cold sober eh?

Maybe you need to drink before posting, Punnyguy. That was completely incoherent.
