Did you watch the video?
I’d actually think it’d be better if they killed livestock that way, like with a sledgehammer or something quick, rather than slitting there throats while they’re hanging on a coveyorline and waiting for them to bleed to death. Obviously it’s easier to deal with fish because we don’t share as many qualities with them and they don’t scream and wail when we hurt them.
yes we are all hypocrites in a way, doesen’t mean we can’t improve what the standard is.
I will only eat grass-fed organic beef, and free range chicken and pork. I believe factory farming is unacceptably cruel, and I have lived on a farm for my entire life. Beyond being cruel, the thought of consuming the meat produced in those conditions repulses me. Check out the Weston Price Foundation’s websight for information on obtaining quality meet and raw milk in your area.
As far as animal cruelty is concerned, I saw a video last week of live animal skinning in China that mad this one look like a petting zoo…
Ok. I just finished watching the video. First of all, I feel like allot of the narration is considerably exaggerated. It’s definitely overplayed. Secondly, the way that the cattle were castrated and de-horned is highly unconventional. Most horns are chemically burned off at the root before they have a chance to mature, and castration is typically carried out via a rubber band when a calf is still only days old. Some of these situations are legitimate, others seem out of place. Did anyone notice that the guy who cut the throat of the hanging cattle was the same one who cut the throats of the hanging pigs? Does it seem logical that pigs and cows would both be slaughtered at the same building by the same person in an industry with such fantastic production numbers??
