I agree. F Philly. The only good thing to come out of that city was Rocky, and he was fake.

Coming from the guy from…Jersey???

Please enlighten us, oh great one, all the fine things Jersey has produced.

Off the top of my head?

Frank Sinatra, Bon Jovi, The Boss, Derek Jeter, Lou Costello, Jason Biggs, James Gandolfini, Allen Ginsberg, Ray Liotta, Jack Nicholson, Redman, Dennis Rodman, Norman Schwarzkopf, Bill Parcells, Kendall Holt, Arturo Gatti…

You want me to keep going?

Why do I hate Philly? Straight scum, as personified by this:

Eagles Fans Reach the Ultimate Low
© St. Petersburg Times
published September 14, 2003

On Tuesday, during his regular weekly radio show, Joe Jurevicius related comments made to him during pregame warmups for Monday’s game between the Bucs and Eagles. Philadelphia fans were yelling at Joe, “Where is your son” and “How’s your son?”

How low and despicable someone must be to use the death of a newborn child in an attempt to psychologically undermine an athlete before a sporting event. We all knew the Philadelphia fans were low-brow, but that set the bar at a new low.

It would appear that this ploy did not achieve the desired effect on Joe, as he and his teammates proceeded to deliver the Eagles and their scurrilous minions a 17-0 lesson on how to be completely humiliated on national television.

Irish, you sound really immature ripping an entire city based on some drunk idiots comment. Forming an opinion about a city based on an article like this is something an uneducated person would do. Things like this unfortunately are said all the time by low class people in every sports city in the US. Get a clue.

You can take any city in America and name a bunch of famous people that were originally from there. Not to mention you are really reaching with some of these people, as I’ve never even heard of Schwarzkopf, Holt, Ginsberg, Costello, or the Boss.

If you want I can come up with a larger and better list of famous people to come from Philly. But that’s not what makes a place good or not. There is a reason Jersey girls are referred to as trash, and Jersey is referred to as the armpit of America.

Fine. You got BHop. And I like him. And the liberty bell. But that’s it.

Say what the fuck you want. Philly fans have a well-deserved reputation for being the lowest of the low. That shit don’t just appear- you gotta work for it. They have, and their reputation reaps the “rewards”.

The whole damn country knows this. You want to deny it, have fun.

I’ll allow Kendall Holt, but he just won the light welterweight title and he’s from Paterson.

But really dude, you never heard of the General who led the US Army in the Gulf War? You haven’t heard of Allen Ginsberg, one of the most famous American poets and the writer of “Howl”? You’ve never heard of Bruce Springsteen? You’ve never heard of Abbot and Costello?

Shit bro, you must be from Philly.

Well, I’m done hijacking, although it was fun. I’ll let Bill Burr explain this, because he says everything we all think about Philly, he’s just funnier.

I got my draft this weekend, I’ll post my picks later.

Here are a couple of guys to keep an eye out for:

Michael Turner (RB - Falcons) - He is going to get an asston of work (over 300 projected carries) - he can catch out of the backfield, and he has fresh legs from being the odd man out in a platoon for the past few years.
He was the back up to LT, how was he part of a platoon situation? LT has never, nor probably will ever be part of a platoon.
Randomguy555 wrote:Reggie Bush (RB - Saints) - He is going to give you a combo run / pass attack as usual, and you know the Saints can’t stop anybody.

His value totally dropped this year (I think hes projected to go in the late 6th round and he was a top 25 pick last year) - he may not be a stud back, but Deuce is coming off surgery and I think he’ll bounce back. Bonus points for fucking Kim Kardashian or whatever her name is.
I drafted Bush only because he fell to me in the 4th round and he was the highest rated player on the board yet. I’m not expecting much out of him but I hope he does live up to his hype this year.
Randomguy555 wrote:
Chester Taylor (RB - Vikings) Of course he is behind AP who is a monster, but AP might b fragile and Chester can run. He is projected to go in round 12, so maybe you can handcuff this guy late.
Chester went in the 9th round in my draft and it wasn’t me who picked him. I drafted A.P. but wasn’t about to waste a pick in the first 10 rounds just for a handcuff guy. I don’t know where you are getting your numbers from but Chester is being drafted ridiculously high this year. He’s going as high as Rd. 5. What a waste.
Randomguy555 wrote:
Dwayne Bowe: (WR - Chiefs) Very talented WR with good production with SHITTY QB last year. I think he was a rookie too, he can only get better. Projected to go in round 7.
One of the nice things about Bowe is that he will rack up a lot of garbage time points due to how bad the Chiefs are. He’s also very talented like you said. But watch out for the sophomore slump this year.
Randomguy555 wrote:
Robert Meachem: (WR - Saints) Young guy fighting for 2nd or 3rd WR spot on the Saints. Will get a lot of looks and has breakaway TD speed. Can pick him up very late.
Agreed!
Randomguy555 wrote:
If you get late picking a TE I like Ben Watson or Kevin Boss (rounds 12 and 13 respectively).
Boss might surprise, but I wouldn’t draft him. Ben Watson is too hit or miss for me. He did have 6 TDs last year but not many yards. And I don’t think the Pats are going to run up the score this year so that takes away some of his redzone looks

Yeah, I don’t really know much either. Just like talking 'bout this shit.

I agree. Turner is completely fresh because he never played. I’m drafting him early, I think he’s going to break out huge this year. I’ve been waiting for him to be out of LT’s shadow

Sorry for the hijack.

Hey, what’s everyone pay here for add/drops? This has been a point of contention in my league for a long time, as they’re $5 a piece and I always think it should be lower.

Well I said I’d post my draft so here it goes: 10 team league, deep benches - points for receptions, completions, AND carries.

We have a couple of casual players in there and a few hardcore guys.

Picks in order-

Round (Pick #) Player
1 3 Brian Westbrook
2 18 Jamal Lewis
3 23 Larry Fitzgerald
4 38 Reggie Bush
5 43 Kellen Winslow
6 58 Dwayne Bowe
7 63 Jerricho Crotchery
8 78 Matt Forte
9 83 David Garrard
10 98 San Diego D
11 103 Santana Moss
12 118 Vincent Jackson
13 123 Ray Rice
14 138 Tedd Ginn Jr
15 143 Aaron Rodgers

My receivers feel suspect, but at least I put my money where my mouth is and took a few of the guys I said I thought would be good.

I can NOT believe Forte got passed to me so late. Nobody wanted to gamble on Ray Rice too and the fact that I got him in 13 is laughable.

Hopefully Garrard will do well or Rodgers will turn into the next Brett Farve, and I can ride some of these backs to a few wins.

Any reason why you picked McFadden in the first round?

Just made my first trade of the year and I’m happy.

Give:
Earnest Graham
S. Holmes

Get:
M. Lynch
A. Gonzalez

I think I made out like a bandit on this one.

Just had my draft yesterday. I got a lot of sleepers I think, and some blatant good picks.

QB Matt Schaub
WR Torry Holt
WR Donald Driver
WR Nate Burleson
RB Frank Gore
RB Michael Turner
TE Jason Witten
K Jason Hanson
DEF Buffalo

Bench-

RB Ernest Graham
WR Ted Ginn Jr.
RB Ray Rice
WR DeSean Jackson
WR Kevin Walter
QB J.T. O’Sullivan
TE Ben Utect

I’d do this trade in a heartbeat (cuz Graham is gonna fall apart eventually right?) but sooner or later Holmes is gonna break out and be a monster.

I guess a guy named FightinIrish has to draft a QB named O’Sullivan

Hahah.

Well, I’m figuring with Mike Martz being the offensive coordinator in San Fran, there’s a chance that O’Sullivan could blow up into a stat machine like Kitna did last year.

I’m not banking on it, mind you, but I’m hoping.
