Family Trip to the Florida Keys

Yo…I know Push ‘earned’ his nickname in the Keys…but…what would you all recommend for a Family Trip to the Keys…me and She Say and our 10, 13 and 15 year old sons…we plan on spending as many days as it would be fun.

Peas. Owt.

I hate to just speak poorly of your choice, but there’s not much to do in the Keys that doesn’t involve the water[boating, snorkeling, diving, and fishing]. I’d recommend visiting Miami instead.

i’m not really i’d really consider miami very ‘family oriented’

why not orlando?

in either case, can you let me know when so i can try and say hi?

Well there are four main sections:

Key Largo is for diving
Islamorada is for fishing
Marathon/Big Pine Key is for camping
and Key West is for well painting your body, getting drunk and watching street performers.

Im not sure what you guys are planning to do, but I usually stay up in the “top” part of the keys (between islamorada and key largo) and go diving, parasailing, and such. There are plenty of place to just relax, but not too many sandy beaches like you would find on the coast of Florida.

Why the keys?

id recommend a time machine so you can either go back in time and go before the oil spill, or go enough into the future that they have it all cleaned up. the oil is supposed to make a mess of the keys…

BOOM

I thought this was funny for some reason. Maybe the immediate relevance to the situation is why I laughed? Not sure, really…

There’s more to Miami than South Beach, the Miami area also offers more than the Keys.

i apologize for being a shortsighted, young man in his 20s with to much money for his own good and not enough blood to run both his brain and penis at the same time

You ever thought about giving Sonny Crockett a call?

To be honest most people don’t believe me when I say there’s more to the Miami area than things that appeal to people in their 20s looking for a good time, so really your beliefs are shared by many.

Go to Ft. Lauderdale it has a palindrome, canals, beaches, upscale shopping, and a palindrome

Orlando has a lot besides the theme parks. Tiffany Morse Museum, Orlando Science Center, Speed Ice Skating Track, Indoor skydiving, Helicopter Rides, Hot AIr Balloon Rides, Rock Springs, Leu Gardens, Best Jazz music in FL

Miami has South Beach, Sunset Place, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Bayside, Vizcaya, Fairchild Tropical Gardens, Best Latin music in FL

Key West is tiny and really doesn’t have the much except boating and snorkeling. Its also very very very far. Miami International Airport to Key West is a good 4+ hour drive. I don’t know how it is since the Oil Spill but the only thing its really better than the others for is Snorkeling. You can boat on any number of huge lakes in Orlando or the oceans in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.

If its the gulf that appeals to you go to St. Petersburg its the nicest beaches with lots to do. Salvador Dali museum, Tampa Aquarium, Clearwater, Ybor City, Lake Manatee State Park
