Me too.
And I think the nose was on purpose for that one reason.

The way his voice whistles creeps me out.
“And don’t you mouth off to me or I’ll slap you right in your penis.”

It’s actually a lot funnier if you live in, or are at least from, RI or New England. Seth McFarlane is from CT and went to RISD (RI School of Design) so there’s a lot of local humor in the show most people from other areas of the country wouldn’t necessarily get. [/quote]

I thought there may be a few fans here!
I have a tendency to study things when I get interested in them. It seems that the writers/creator of “The Family Guy” have played around with Stewie’s sexuality, and decided that for more writing and creative flexibility to keep it ambiguous. (A few of you guys have indicated that very thing).
Since I’m new to the cartoon, I tend to see episodes that go between a lot of years, and even I’ve seen them toy with where exactly they want to take the Little Guy.
And as someone said, there are some things that can make you “cringe” sometimes (I’ve seen them “push the edge”). But overall, its pretty funny and satirical.
(I’m surprised jsbrook? hasn’t posted here. Doesn’t he have Stewie as as Avatar?)

Had a busy day. I fucking love Family guy. I do agree with the people that set it veered off track for awhile. But I think it’s back. The randomness is its genius. I think a lot of people miss the subtleties of it and don’t appreciate it as much as it deserves.

It’s one of the few shows where I am pretty much guaranteed to laugh out loud at least once every episode.
In fact, I’ve seen every episode so many times it is almost like Loony Tunes to me (which was also pretty damn random in its time).

It’s the randomness that sells the show. You also have to be fairly intelligent to get a lot of the jokes.
never gonna catch me, see yall next year

Are you serious? Most of the random jokes are obscure pop culture references thrown in as filler to flesh out a weak script and plot. Once again the show has mediocre at best writing with jokes tartgeted at those who can’t pay attention to any one thing for more than 10 seconds. I’m not saying I don’t enjoy the show, but it gets real old real fast and is highly overrated.

I can pay attention to more than one thing for more than 10 seconds and Peter finding out he’s retarded and getting Lavar Burton to be his “big brother/retard guide” is still funny as all hell.
It is almost as funny as Stewie asking Brian, “so, how’s that book you’re writing coming along…?”

no, it really doesn’t. and I think it’s underrated, seeing as how several in this thread just started watching.
I didn’t start watching till it went off the air for a while. Couldn’t believe a show that funny was cancelled, then again, I never bothered to watch because no one really talked about it
