Experience with Defy Medical

I’m not afraid of an injection. I just do not want to give myself semi-weekly injections thousands of times, developing scar tissue all over and possibly occasional infections or complications.

I don’t think you need to worry about that. It hasn’t seemed to impact really anyone I know who has been on long term TRT. Using slin pins will reduce the likelihood of scar tissue (I personally think it is mostly a myth anyways).

Maybe the injections where they use pressurized liquid work well, also.

All injections used pressurized liquid. Not sure what you are getting at?

I think he’s talking about auto-injectors. Most posts I’ve read about guys using creams usually switch at some point anyways. No harm in trying creams first I suppose, but they don’t seem to get the numbers up consistently where most guys need them.

Yes, there’s one without a needle using the liquid itself to penetrate.

I heard gel does not work well unless you overdo it. You also heard problems with cream?

Well, if insurance covers those, I might consider them. They are a lot more money than a vial and slin pins though. For what they offer, I would not pay the difference, but you do you.

No vision problems so far.

The initial process is a little pricey, but my insurance was able to cover it. I just need to go through the hoops of submitting claims and they are considered “out of network” for my PPO. So my $250 a month really is like $50. Also, my cocktail includes peptides and nutritional injectables. The only thing I HATE HATE HATE is the shipping. It’s so expensive, and in reality express is not really express. Once you submit the order, it takes time for them to send it over to the pharms to process and send. I haven’t had any bad experiences with Empower yet. Keyword being YET.

They are a business, you can’t expect a business not to want to make money. I don’t think they’re thieves sucker punching people and ripping people off, but this may change if they do me wrong. May be somewhat expensive but there are other clinics who are far worst. I actually tested Defy and asked if I could pin 200MG 2x a week, when my protocol from my retired doctor was 100MG 2x a week. My PA said no, and said that he would like to see my lab work while following my old protocol before he could make any changes/recos. This told me they were somewhat honest. I got my initial labs done and he did not recommend 200MG 2x a week. He never once sold peptides to me, I was the one actually curious.

I’m so sorry that your wife and friends had bad experiences. You can have them give you a prescription for labs and go through insurance. They wrote me a script, I took it to labcorp, gave labcorp script and insurance info and I paid $0 for my full panel of labs.

It’s expensive, but it’s the price I will pay to have a better quality of life. It sucks I could use that money towards something else. But also, my insurance is covering it. If my insurance didn’t cover it, I still use them, just maybe not do the peptides.

That’s what I’ve been doing too. $0 in labs.

@ncsugrad2002 and @mhy003 how do you guys get your insurance to pay for the labs?? That’s crazy I never knew that. I have good insurance I didn’t know we could use it. Do defy make you pay for them or you just ask them for the labs and they give it too you?

You have to request a form from Defy in order to submit to your insurance.

Thanks I appreciate it

Is it a hassle or is it a pretty easy process

Take script to lab corp or quest that’s it.

Only issue that may come up, which I haven’t heard happening recently, is it’s an out of state dr maybe they won’t take.

Insurance companies will pay with proper dx codes
Usuallyy script needs dx codes on them.

dam and this whole time I have been paying for them smh.

My drs are all local. I actually write in additional tests I want. Not sure if you should do that with defy.

interesting though if they were interested in saving their patients money they would counsel you on this.

Not quite. I have done that with prescriptions (reimbursement form), but for labs Defy gave me a prescription pad note with the labs written on them, I went to LabCorp, gave it to them and part of the sign in with them is they ask who is paying for the labs. I gave them my insurance info and they billed everything to them. It was all 100% covered. My insurance has 100% free labs from LabCorp so that makes it super nice, I wish I had known that before spending money for a year or two on labs.
