Experience with Defy Medical

Yup. Clinics wouldn’t be popping up all over and wouldn’t be printing money if there wasn’t demand for it. The “regular” docs that act like TRT is cocaine or something are what make it this way.

$250 a month is good fee for:

testosterone
hCG
the peptides
the vitamin cocktail

Testosterone is probably the cheapest of the bunch.

I would never recommend defy to anyone after my wife and my friends wife had to deal with them. Scree that clinic. They are no good.

I posted a response to someone asking about defy for their at their forum excel and they banned me. I wasn’t saying anything but the truth and they banned my ass.

Right now my good friend says every time it’s time for his wife’s refill he has to spend money on labs and push them multiple times to refill her script so she doesn’t run out.

He’s tired of it and switching docs.

Imagine starting HRT as a woman and your period isn’t coming and you have other issues that you want to get the doctors help because you are freaking out.

You spend 4 months calling them and they literally never call you back. Not once. Not even the secretary calls you back with an answer.

Month 6 you get an email saying “we need labs and schedule an follow up with the doc”.

By then we traveled to see my doctor

For guys it’s much easier.

That isn’t remotely the experience most people have had with them. I wouldn’t use or recommend them either if that were my experience though.

I too am not a fan of them. Seems like to justify whatever they charge a month, many trt centers throw in cocktails you may not even need.
Not sure if defy still does this, they give almost everyone a script for ai and told patient’s take it only if you need it. They want that$$ at least initially and keeps empower pharmacy they use $$

And in order to keep you, they listen to you and give you many things you want. You want to try this, sure…

Yes exactly . They are in it for the money. They don’t care to actually help men and woman.

I think the key words I notice that you said we’re knowledgeable doctors. To be honest are the really knowledgeable doctors on TRT. Because the more I look around on this forum all I see are people that have problems on TRT and for 3 years I have not seen a multiple people say that they all agree that there is a specific doctor that knows what he is doing and that he has honestly helped them and they are symptom free. Honestly I have wasted so much money on different doctors that were suppose to be well knowledge doctors and I still find my self coming back to this forum for help when im paying someones thousands of dollars a years for help. Honestly I do not think exogenous testosterone helps people that have a true health problem and can not figure out why they have low testosterone. Now for body builders and people that are in the gym that decide amount them self that want to get bigger muscles so they decide to inject testosterone and run cycles and all that stuff then yea maybe they are able to reach there body goals by injecting this stuff. and when they get bad side effects and then they come on to the forum asking for help of why there busy crashed then I mean those individuals should have thought long and hard before taking some type of medication and injecting it into there perfect healthy body just to get bigger which is a shame but thats was there decision. Also for transgenders that are injecting them self with this. For anyone out there please do not use this stuff unless you really need it. Your are fine just the way you are you don’t not need to inject this because you can really mess up your body and may not be able to return back to your self again. But as far as people with simple health issues where there testosone has dropped for no reason yes I don’t know if there are any doctors out there that actually know how to fix the problem. So for these doctors out there taking peoples money knowing dang well they do not know how to fix the problem is kind of crazy. But yes if anyone does know a doctor for sure that can help someone and is worth the money then yes speak up because I have been looking for help for the past 3 to 4 years

Many times low T symptoms come from other causes, and replacing the levels does not correct the issue.

This also applies for I would argue the large majority of psychiatry, where people medicate to weather a storm instead of genuinely correcting a problem.

There is just about 0% chance a coarse second-generation drug that mostly just buzzes you responds to one’s environment more intricately than one’s natural abilities. People take them because they lessen a symptom they do not solve.

$250 a month id lost a car note. which comes out to be $3,000 a year. The only difference is that you will eventually pay that car off this is something you way pay for the rest of your life. You will not need a vial of testosterone every month and a vial of HCG every month unless you are injecting a whole lot. I pay $108 of HCG maybe like every other month and most of the time doctors will evaluate you and tell you to run labs in 3 months. So those other moneys your not using them your paying $250. And then is a 50/50 chance they maybe actually even able to help you. No if this doctor was well known for actually slaving the symptoms of individuals then yes he is well worth the money because I would definitely pay for someone to actually help me. But if that were the case there would not be very many people of this forum because we would all be going to this doctor. But most likely there are not very many that can actually help form what I see. Unless you know fo a faclity that is well known for stabilizing there patients on TRT

I never got that impression from anyone at Defy, they have tools at their disposal to alleviate symptoms should they arise (low dose AI), but it’s never forced on anyone.

I was told to inject more often before I was offered an AI, but remember some right out the gate aren’t ready to commit to injecting daily or EOD.

So the choice is yours regarding whether to take the AI route (easy way out) or to truly commit yourself to treatment, the more frequent injections.

That’s not to say Defy is the best out there, but they are far and above better than your typical endocrinologist or sick care doctor.

IMO, there Dr and practitioners are solid. I did not like their shipping protocols, and the overall cost. Really for me after a year, there was no protocol change. To me, after getting dialed in, it should drop in price more.

I go to Defy. I don’t pay near that. I’m on solo testosterone. After the initial labs it’s much cheaper. The docs there are decent I’d give them a B grade. Too many whiners on here expect testosterone to cure everything for them. It’s not just for muscle bound gym bros. If you’re truly testing low and symptomatic it makes a difference. If you’re expecting miracles you will be disappointed. Period.

I was including follow-up labs in that because that is what we do. Plus, I don’t even know our fees since, except for testosterone, the others are not used indefinitely, they would be one time add ons and not included in the regular monthly fees. I was simply guessing what a monthly cost might be.

However, you’re right. In a free market the patient decides if the services are worth the price. The practice gets to determine their business model. Some have a boutique type of practice, higher fees, a lot of esoteric services, making more income per patient so they can take care of fewer patients but still maintain a high income. Some are the opposite, lower fees, but higher patient volume. Some are in between.

There are a million, or more, guys taking testosterone. Given that, there are very few people on this forum.

What about the reported half million plus getting twice monthly injections through their primary care physician? While we would not do that and while they do not know any difference, they are, nonetheless, satisfied with their results.

I’ll second/third/fourth TRT and impact on depression/anxiety. I cut my meds out a few months after starting. I feel so much calmer and at ease since starting TRT. When starting TRT the one concern my wife had was increased anger and all that other BS people have been fed for years about testosterone. She not only agrees I’m calmer than ever she’s told a few friends they should have their husbands checked, two did and are now on TRT with great success. Another area I was surprised it assisted with was life long migraines. The number of headaches I get have drastically reduced, there are studies out there that low T can cause increased headaches.

Ha low T causes anger more because people are not on top of things. Assertive guys do not struggle as much.

What dose? Cream or pin? For some reason, the cream seems most attractive to me. Simple.

I wouldn’t say I was aggressive before, anxious yes for my whole life. On top of things is something I’ve always been except knowing my hormone levels haha. I started with Defy then found a local guy. The only issue I had with Defy was getting labs in my stat so I switched. I started with clomid because I was nervous about pinning. Not long after I switched to injections because I didn’t see any change with clomid. Pinning 150mg week TRT, 3x wk. Cream is more of a process that I don’t have time for. All I do is pin the same days and time every week and walk away. No worry about cream rubbing off, putting it on too close to contact with someone else, etc etc

How long does the cream take to absorb?

I’m not sure, I didn’t get past my research about timing it. My life is fast paced, pinning is much more convenient. After you do it a handful of times you learn the best places to do it and it’s little more than a pinch. With creams you need to make sure it’s done after showers, dries correctly, avoid contact and all that. I don’t like to time my showers or sex life, my wife would not be a fan of thinking about me rubbing my T cream on her lol. Also with the shots I know what goes in every time so in my opinion less user error.

I’m sure if you just clean the area first, it would work. Use a bandage to cover the exposure.

The shots are not bad if you go with slin pins. I can do delts or subQ no big deal. I was very afraid of it at first. I think starting with injectable is the way to go. You will get over it.
