Everything's a PR

little bit o’ hp snatch today,

I warmed up to four singles with 195#. I had to press the fourth out as I pulled far far out in front of me. I determined that was a fine place to end it.

I ment to ask a while ago, what would you recommend i do as far as having a throwing schedule goes? I was hoping you could help me out a little bit with laying one out. Thanks!
looks like things have been going well for you, whats your best snatch?

As far as a throwing schedule is concerned, how much time do you have?

I only like/d to throw when I was fresh. If you can throw everyday for hours and make improvements, do that. If an hour a day three days a week works, do that. I would opt for the second option. If I were you I would focus on full throws, break them down from back to front or front to back until things are right. Personally, I like to throw the heavy stuff as the warm up to throwing the discus. Go easy and gradually build power in the “arm”. Video some throws weekly, watch videos of many world level throwers, notice similarities and differences, and try to figure out what works for you!

I kind of went easy this past week, nothing remarkable. Same lifts just lighter weight. I want to crank it back up here in the next few days.

Right now I have only been going light and building up on the hip power snatch. In the past, I was just short of 250 pounds with a h(hang)ps catching in a split. Power Cleans are an entirely different story. I’ve hit 375 pounds a few times when I done power cleans, this is usually a product of a decent deadlift for me.

I’ll be working a full time job this summer (hopefully) that goes from 7-3… so i dont think time is really going to be an issue i’ll have upwards of three hours a day to lift and throw. Thanks for the advice and the article, that was a really good one. Ideally i’ll be able to get a video up every week, i’m hoping to add a good deal of distance to my throws this summer. I’m terrible at cleans, hopefully this can be remedied by getting a stronger deadlift, like you said haha
