What I thought was funny were the people adamantly defending thelove4u’s lifts. Also those who could not believe it whatsoever. It’s guy on an internet message board saying he lifts a lot. We need to take it for what it’s worth. If one of us went and worked out with him and vouched that the boy was strong, there wouldn’t be a problem. But just showing up on a messageboad and saying, “Yeah, I squat XXX pounds” really doesn’t tell us a whole hell of a lot.
My point on that thread (which is related to this thread), is that a little corroboration is needed before we start blindly believing, and especially listening to strangers on an internet forum. char stated that very well.
(No disrespect to thelove, he is just a recent example of our bitching and moaning. There’s no doubt the boy is jacked.)
DANC: Yeah, but none of that means that he should be stronger than a guy who was a world champion powerlifter in his day. Not only stronger, but stronger at (a) a lower bodyweight and (b) a greater height and (c) a much younger age. Hell, Franco was one of only something like 20 men in history who recorded a regulation bench at over 3 times his bodyweight.
I just think that that’s a little much to swallow, gymnastics background or no gymnastics background.
But like I said, if I’m wrong I’ll be first up to say “Dang! You the man!”.

Hey you guys kid, but I was once coerced into meeting a girl at a bar called the Blue Note Cafe. The front door of the bar was boarded up so you had to go in the “back door.” Turns out one of her male co-workers was in a drag show that night. I felt the plight of all girls who walk into straight bars and have all eyes on them like hunters stalking their prey. I was scared and on the defensive, ready to throw down at all times.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, I ran into a guy from my high school that I always suspected was gay named “Buddy.” I can still picture the look on this poor guy’s face: surprise and delight. Realizing what he was thinking, I just said, “uh…no, dude” and left.
All men should take a visit to a gay bar. It really shows you all the crap women have to deal with from men.
Plus it’s fun to walk in and have everybody just stop what they’re doing and stare (in a “good” way). I’ve always said that if girls reacted to me that way, I’d be the biggest whore on earth.
If you’re a real man, you can deal with it and have a good time. Now going there regularly might tell you a little more about yourself.
