Yea 2 days is definitely going to allow more people to come. My vote is for 2 days.
I’m an hour from Maryland. Great idea. Keep us informed!
And if we’re voting or chiming in on suggested or hoped for presenters then add Jason Ferruggia to the list.
I’d be interested. 3 days is too much for me, but I’d be up for 1 or 2.
I’d be more then willing to pay money to hear Jason.
Also Zach Even Esh, Nate Green, CT, Cosgrove, Staley,Waterbury, and Dave Tate are all people that I would love to meet and listen to at some point.

Deposit seems fair to me.
2 days sounds good. 1 isn’t enough to interest me in flight/hotel/food.
Could do another in 2010 in England…? Grins!
I actually want to meet Bauer97. There’s a myth about him being some big guy and I want to see this “legend” in person.
I’ll show him what for. Damn football players.
I’d be interested to see how many people show up that dont look at all like they lift.
Maybe Ive got too much pride, but i cant imagine doing that, yet im sure somebody will.
Deposit should be more. Usually deposit is around 20-25% of cost.
Get a speaker who can attract his “own” crowd. That is, someone who has “fans” outside of T-Mag. Those people will cost more money, but they will attract more people. It usually ends up being worth it.
Talk to hotels. Get a block rate for rooms.
Even if something is “two days” that doesn’t need to mean 8 hours each day.
You could structure the days as follows:
Day 1.
10-1 p.m.
Lunch
3-6 p.m.
That means you only need six hours to fill.
Day 2.
10-1 or 11-2 (people might want to sleep in if a lot go out)
So only three hours to fill on day 2.
Structuring it that way gives people enough time to “see the sites” on day 2, while also feeling like they are getting value for the money during the seminar.
This sounds like it’s panning out to have plenty of potential.
PS, do it in May… I’ll be 21. ![]()
i’m down for sure

only thing at this point is my post a few up about contacting one presenter.
I’m waiting to hear back from 2 more.
Here’s a thought I’ll run by everyone. Like mentioned earlier, a lot of people will say they’re interested, and when time comes to pay up you get less response.
How would everyone feel about a $20 deposit (non-refundable) to reserve a spot? This would allow me to get at least a somewhat accurate head count of who would be serious. Obviously, if I started collecting money I would give more details as far as date and presenters.
Let me know what you think.
I’m just one guy here without much experience doing this so I can’t foot a $10k bill and have 10 people show up, I need everyone’s help on this :D[/quote]
i would def throw down a deposit as long as i knew a ballpark range of the total cost. most likely i will need to grunge some cash off family since im at college with no job.
as far as a timeframe goes, maybe we can find a nice 3 day weekend, some national holiday, have a 2 day event and make the last day optional for fucking around, training, chilling, and getting to know everyone.
my suggestion would be to find a venue, that can house about 100 people at least.then you need to decide how many days it would run, say for arguement two.
your charge for show would be a mark up on the speaker fees and venue fees, insurance and legal.
then comes profit… if you wanted to make this a regular thing, you might not make money yr 1.
after that comes advertisement and every guerrila marketing thing you can think of to fill 100 places.
it would be easier for you if you advertise it towards personal trainers.

Shit… I am really starting to run low on ‘tell everyone on T-Nation I’m huge’ funds. I knew this would catch up with me sooner or later…
Alright guys, new story: ‘Bauer97 is a fat slob who only does TBT and lives on LUNA bars and alfredo sauce.’ Got it? That way, when I show up at this seminar in decent shape, everyone will be super impressed!

You have NO idea.
Far more alarming: How many fitness conference/seminar PRESENTERS that don’t look like they lift.
Are we all going to wear name tags with our T-Nation names on them to allow for proper identification?
