Hey Wig

First game post surgery.

Also, if you’ve got a problem with the time food’s being served, don’t fucking go.
Yeah, I guess I have no problem helping out a family member who has a genuine medical problem. She doesn’t ask for special accommodation and genuinely means it when she says “You don’t have to do this!” I make the effort because I love her and I have no interest in causing her physical harm. She eats gluten = she has explosive diarrhea for extended periods of time. It’s not a diet, it’s how she has to eat to not die.

The vegetarian niece, she’s 9 years old and the daughter of hippies. She also doesn’t have a really good family life, so I always try to show her love and affection when she’s around.

If this was someone who showed up and I had no idea about dietary restrictions, or the restrictions were stupid (e.g., “I can’t eat anything with butter because it gives me acne”), or they were rude, then yeah, bring your own fucking food. But I guess the one “nurturer” aspect of my personality is to attempt to show love through cooking.
I have a friend who is deathly allergic to nuts. She kissed a guy who had eaten a Reese’s peanut butter cup an hour before (which she didn’t know) and had a reaction. Thank goodness she carries an epi pen with her 24/7. And once, they went to a restaurant, Bucca di Beppo’s, because they are nut free, for her bday and ordered her a cake…which came with crushed pistachios on the outside…obviously the “no nut” thing did not translate when they said “she’s allergic to nuts, can you make a cake withOUT nuts?” Needless to say, they had to rush her to the ER, which was across the street. :expressionless:

This may be a stupid question, but whatever. When people say they’re eating zero or trace amounts of carbs, does that mean they are getting no vegetables?

Probably.

But you have to eat a lot of broccoli to get any significant carbs from it.

What about non-green? I’ll eat a large bag of carrots in a day, or corn or you know, not broccoli.

You would have to eat 2.2 lbs of carrots to hit 80 grams of carbs.

Okay…I have to post this here. He posted it in TILF but it was so hilarious, I had to post it here.

Nice Busy!

Let us know how that goes. I’m interested.

There is no way you could eat enough carrots in 1 sitting to do much damage, if it’s just carrots.

Oh hey Max! I was actually reading up on the biosig thread, I’m still early in it though (pg 11) interesting stuffs, but everyone talk about having negligible carbs, does that mean none from non vegetable sources? I know it’s nit picky, but if I smash a bag of carrots and a bag of spinach in a day, that gives me 35g of carbs, which when people are talking in the 0-10 g range is a lot. It’s not something I’m actually worried about, I"m just curios. I’ve got plenty of actual carbs to drop before I start being that anal in real life.

Did I hear someone say “anal”?

HI:)
