Depends on the parent and child.
I don’t think there is any hard line age, and I don’t think all actions are encompassed either.
For instance, my son can choose and buy any video game he selects. My wife doesn’t allow GTA or the like, but I just talk to him about the difference between the game and real life until he is blue in the face. Same with music, I don’t monitor what he listens too, I never was and he knows how to be respectful to us and in public.
But I do monitor his internet. He has no blocks and has a youtube, but he has to clear what is put on it, and he knows we are allowed to read his messages and check his history. It is a privildge for him to lose, he has earned the respect to make his own choices on the sites he goes to, but pictures and videos he puts up, and who he is talking to, he isn’t allowed to choose.
