Hi, new to forums. So anything goes in these threads, huh? I’ve read some before and quite enjoyed how supportive it is. So, to contribute what support I can:
Decide what you loved about training in the first place. That’s what you need to recapture.
Decide if training is who you are, or just something you do sometimes.
Stop wasting time deciding shit and do something! Weights don’t lift themselves.
If you’re serious about training, about making it part of who you are, then you probably belong @ the hardcore gym. Someone will probably be there who can answer your questions and keep you from hurting yourself. But if you’re serious,it’s basically your job to learn all you can. Then you’ll be showing others the basics and keeping them out of trouble.

Now it’s just me, so it’s not fun anymore.
Instead, now it is amazing. I fought through all the bullshit, uneasiness and anxiety. I battled my way, met my fear face to face on the field, and beat his fucking ass into the earth. I did it, for me, by me, and no one can take this away from me.
Showering is occasionally a pain in da ass. Going to the gym 2 times = showering 2 times a day and my inner dirty hippie does not like it. I occasionally love showers, but I feel like I’m always showering. Also, laundry, I always have so much laundry! I think I may wear this fucking smelly shirt all week just so I don’t have an extra load of laundry. Hmpf, I’m going to go shower and find some foods.

No Deadlifts for this man. Legs and ass are screaming obscenities at me. Other fun to be had, however. In other news, Beast + Ice Cream = lots of fumigating. I feel no remorse for what my coworkers must now endure.

Do I have to have a belt to pull sumo? It seems like all the people in the vids do.
I only strap mine on at 225-235lbs. I don’t use it to warm up from 135 to 205. I keep it for when it gets heavy. It’s good to work the core without the belt too. I would say add it for your last set or 2 last sets. What’s your deadlift day look like?
NL, you think your belt helps your lift? or keeps you from getting injured? Curious to know.
I gave up all straps and belts about 10 years ago for the better, I felt like they were in my way…and I just recently pulled 500 with nothing but chalk and bare feet, a personal best. That said…I don’t compete.
And hitting you up again, Hip. Couldn’t agree with your more on the belt, as I found it very cumbersome and annoying. Chalk, like Hip, is all I use. Strengthen your core, to include your lower back, and you should be fine. Until you really begin getting up to the much heavier weights.
Okay, but have any of you seen Mainy in JUST her belt? Pretty sure there were pix when she got it…
thanks for the call out Greenies
as for gym - get a solid gym sound track on your MP3 to pump you up. I wear a cap to stay in my bubble, it really helps. Write your goals and stick them on the fridge. Why am I hitting the weights 3-4 times a week? Was it just to socialize? To look good naked, improve health… I’ve learned to just roll the bar down my belly if I fail a bench, and use the railings on the squat rack, hence no need for spotter. Do it for yourself, best reason in the world. I do it cause it allows me to drink wine and eat junk food and still look pretty damn good.
I prefer to go to the gym alone. I hate it when I have to go with someone who isn’t quite at the same level/intensity/experience as me. Although I guess for you, I’m Hung is more experienced etc so I guess I’m jealous.
how’s the legal world treating you these days?
Good good good. I’ve realized that I LOVE doing work for clients, but I hate dealing with clients who need ego BJs, or other stroking to make them happy. Pay me for the work, love the work, hate paying me…fuck off. Don’t hire me if you don’t want to pay.
Plus, the guy who I just ego BJ’d was bitching about the costs charged by another attorney, not me, for stuff I had nothing to do with.

Got it and responded.
Brad sorry brother, how old is your pup?
She’s 9, but she’s a Siberian Husky/Malamute mix so it’s predicted she’s got another handful of years ahead of her. No other symptoms besides the tumor (digestive, appetite, etc)
