Especially since the lifting, for me, is shorter or equal to time warming up and cooling down/stretching. I like it because it gives me time to get in atmosphere of the gym in my head…which is why I rarely have days where I can’t turn it on.

I took a week off from lifting during my vaca last week … got back in the gym Saturday to do my squat w/o … the next two days I felt like my legs were rubber … it took a good 20 paces to get going.

Few weeks ago, I woke up, got out of bed, walked down the hall, took my first step down the stairs…crash! Legs said “Fuck you!” If I wasn’t grabbing onto the handrail, I would have been “rolling hard” down those fuckers. DOMS FTW!

When I go up the stairs, I just say ouch, ouch, ouch for each step. Good times.

I actually look forward to going up stairs when in a state of DOMS … it seems that the more stairs I conquer the less pain I’m in…but damn if those first few aren’t agony…

That’s true Polo. I was going to this HIIT class on days between training days. One day I was in killer pain from lifting. Almost every part of my body hurt. I was afraid to do the class thinking it might make things worse. I got through the class just fine and felt 100% better the next day. Comment made to me was, see how great blood flow to healing muscles is a big help?

A transcript from yesterday: (while out walking with my daughter, and passing a discount clothing boutique)
Me: Oh look, would you like a pretty summer dress.
Her: ooooh!
Me: No we’re not here to look at hats. Yes, yes, it is a pretty one. What about the dresses? Do you like this one or this one or this one best.
Her: (in wonder) They’re ALL SO BEAUTIFUL!
Me: If you want the hat as well, you can only pick ONE dress. Do you like this one with the frills, or these with the patterns?
Her: I can’t decide.
Me: Red hearts, or purple flowers?
Her: I guess the hearts…Oh look!
Me: You already have 3 pairs of sunglasses! Which dress are you picking?..

(She now has two new summer dresses. and a hat.)
I get the feeling this is going to get a lot more expensive down the road.
