I didn’t feel like making a thread about this, but still feel the need to rant.
I’m in a teacher education program and in one of my classes today this girl gave an article summary. I timed her towards the end and in one minute she said “like” 45 times. I would say that that was fairly annoying, as someone who plans to make a living speaking in front of people should try and at least sound marginally coherent.

I blow my professors away with my voice/tonal control and word selection. I’ve spoken like an “adult” since around age 12.

If she was ‘liking’ it up, she was probably nervous and was shitting bricks. Sometimes people pick a career and don’t look at all the angles.

I’m sure being a vampire doesn’t hurt either though.
However, being someone who is not too bad at being eloquent hearing “like” half the time someone is speaking is horrible.
