Ever Feel Like a Thread Killer? (6)

I keep going back and forth between what I want…
I played with the decision of semipro football with the Ohio Outlawz, continuing wrestling with my brothers, or carving out a new path and heading into bodybuilding. I can definitely understand your hesitance to go into this. However, the fact that you are even considering it and playing with the idea leads to to believe you will end up doing it.

The little spark in your brain that flickers every time you visualize yourself on stage will eventually ignite your soul, your heart will burn up with passion for the soon after.

Strongman - If I happened to actually be strong, that’s the one I’d train for.

Thanks for all the bb’ing speak…I’m still trying to figure it all out…

Any of you plan on competing one day?
Yes. eventually. i’d like to be contest ready by 25 and competing regularly after that.

i told my girlfriend this and she was like, “ew! you actually want to look like that??”

i almost lost it. she knows better than to say such dirty words in my house.

Eh, she just doesn’t get it

When I was 180, my wife: “ew you wanna be 200”

When I was 200, my wife: “ew you wanna be 220”

when I was 220, my wife: “hey your life a completely different person”

MD- I’ve always wanted to do a strongman comp THE MOST!!

I’d like to see a competition first, I’ve never seen one in person so I should probably find one in Vancouver or somewhere. I don’t feel like I’ve progressed enough to be thinking about that just yet, maybe a couple more years?

Strongman looks cool!

Trav- thats how I got bit by the bug…went in support of my buddy…first Pro show…and I was in awe!!

Ct. you are probably right…I just need some direction…careful planning. careful execution!
I just can’t get over all the work that goes into it, just for it to be over in a matter of minutes, yanno?

I have always wanted to see what my abs looked like :stuck_out_tongue:

I will admit, I do fear the dieting.

Not that I don’t think I could, just that much like our record setting friend, I would be a raging son-of-a-bitch the whole time.

Pretty sure I would end up divorced… Although she stuck with me through tax season/exams/and grad school so you never know.

I’ve actually been feeling alright so far, counting macros daily isn’t bad (I did that for my first year of lifting so it was easy to pic up again). Once you’re pretty big you can still eat quite a bit and drop weight. I think people who drop carbs too low initially will have some negative mood changes. Everyone’s different though.

Also you can always hire a diet coach like Shelby off of EFTS. (Shelby is enormous this year btw, huge improvements)

lol, going to my cousin’s NPC show was the tipping point for me too.

From my experience and from talking to actual lifestyle bbers, the consensus is that you don’t notice the details once you’re in the middle of it all. Its just second nature as in, you wake up and read your “to do and to eat” plan and there’s your day…eventually your week…then month, after that you won’t need to keep a list, you just get rollin’ on your way.

as far as the whole beginning plans go, its really not that difficult although the concept is overwhelming. Its just nerves, that’s all. Just relax, keep your intensity in the gym, and don’t fall into the trap of reading every nutrtion/training article you see. The worst thing that happened in the history of bodybuilding or every other sport for that matter is the internet…confuses and scares people out of commiting because so many “experts and gurus” vary in opinions. lol

I think Strongman BC operates out of Port Moody, so 20 min east of Vancouver. they might have event listing. I’d love to give it a go, but with family/school/etc I figure I wouldn’t be able to give it a go until 2011 or 12.

Yeah, but we’d all love a pic of you in a thong…

Yay! Welcome back! I had a bizarre dream about you! You were some kind of terrorist…like the baddest of the badass terrorists and I was questioned about you and they had a video of you, but it wasn’t you, was some other chick and my reply when seeing the vid was like “No way! That is SO NOT CBear! That chick is WAY over 25% body fat!”

Toots: I’m a little surprised that was your first time in an adult store… What took you so long to check it out? I’m like a kid in a candy store at those places.
He was too! LOL We bought two vibrators. The first one that I picked I wanted b/c it was green was just a typical vibrator, but when the clerk put the batteries in to test it, it didn’t work. When he asked if I wanted another just like it I said that I just liked b/c it was green he rolled his eyes and clearly thought “typical female.” But we found ones we liked so we bought those. We had gone the previous day but they were closed so had to go back the next day. Who would have thought an adult store closed at 7pm?

I just took a peek at the boi thread…dang you guys lift some heavy shit…I don’t think I lift heavy enough for the magic to happen!!!
