I don’t see myself ever being able to be a crossfit chick!! I dunno what it is. I am not peppy/cheer leadery enough to be all bouncy and whatnot, ha-ha. I don’t even think I am coordinated enough to do burpees…
For as long as I can remember I’ve been all about simple straight foward lifting without to much mayheem to make my brain go crazy. <— See! It’s still about not wanting to think, but in a different way.
I made up a new split routine that’s kinda like my old one but semi-sorta different…but pretty much the same. Now instead of whole days devoted to intervals (blah) I’m just throwing in some sprints etc… at the end of some of my training days.
I can not go to the gym and look forward to ONLY doing intervals. Intervals give me a tummy ache (in a TMI sorta way).
The wifey JLO on here has done it for two years now, best shape of her life. She actually wore a dress she wore 10 years ago on our cruise. She is far from peppy type more like angry badger with a sore tooth type. J/K
I actually go and do a couple work outs a week with her.

Hey spock, don’t fix what isn’t broken but don’t be afraid to try new things once in awhile either. In addition you’ve done something right to get where you are, don’t forget that. You have the motivation to get stuff done and that is probably the biggest part of it all. Having the greatest program and etc will do nothing if there is no drive or motivation/purpose behind it. Which i think you have plenty of judging by the progress you’ve made since you first posted pics.

Yeah, I’m void of all pep and cheer too. I have no coordination whatsoever and burpees suck.
People annoy the shit out of me.
I also started crossfit to get myself out of my comfort zone.
yeah that’s actually a lil inspiring… also reassuraing that non-stupid chicks can do it and remain non-stupid chicks.
HMMMMMMMMMM
For me it has been fun, but I understand that it’s not for everyone.
Many of the followers might appear to have a ‘cult-like’ are most likely new to exercise in general and are simply overly excited that they have found something that works for them.
When I first started working out, I followed the Body for Life program. I have no doubt that I was a bit overly excited as well. I loved to talk about it to anyone who would listen to me.
Everyone has different goals and there are many paths to achieve them. It is just about finding out what works for you.

what do they call it when a teenage girl has her whole family massacred and then she is blindfolded, shoved on a plane and sold to a hotel where strangers molest her in exchange for food?
In this dream of yours, Is she exchanged for a plate of food or a truck load of food to feed a small town? Not sure how a plate of food could make up for the plane fare.
Either way you are more fun as E-Jesus. This new E-Manson is not a good Look on you.

I was one last year.
This year I’m going to do more cardio. 0_0
But only outside not in the gym, cardio on the machines gets old after 10 mins.

Congrats on your first year!
I don’t know what you do for cardio, but the only way I can do cardio on the machines without wanting to tear my hair out is to do intervals. 30 minutes on a machine can go by quickly if you look at it in one or two minute sessions.
Outside is always better, but even then, intervals make it fun.

Agree,
Intervals every freaking 30sec mark and then end it with a lap will make 45 min go by like a 10 min warm up…almost.

I’m lucky that I have a nice outdoor dirt track to run on that is marked at every 100 meters. So somedays I do 100 meter intervals, or 200 meter intervals, so on and so forth… you get the picture.
I can only do steady state cardio on a long hike, snow shoe, cross country skiing… otherwise it’s boring as shit.

Or you get a piece of nice scenery parked on the cardio machine in front of you…
The ellipticals @ my 24 hour fitness has those stair climbers right in front of them…

I want to pick a distance and get faster at running it. I’ll start either tomorrow or the next, I think my cooties are almost gone(will see in the morning).
Seriously, I have OCD and am so obsessive and so it’s perfect for me. I can obsess over weightlifiting ALL DAY and there are so many technical details to obsess over and an infinite number of youtube videos of lifts and ohmygod it’s so much awesome!!! And it is so hard and maddening that it makes me crazy but then I think about it more and more and …
catches breath
Crossfit is fun too =) But no where near as cool as Oly.

Probably from all that advice they want to give you, Max.
