What should I do when a student makes inappropriate comments in class?
My mother then all the most respected teachers I had plus LEO’s know the rule of 3
1- Stop
2- Stop or else _________ .
3- Drop Kick
If it goes to 3 an you don’t follow thru they will lose repect for you and act a fool or just run over you.
The reason I teach at the University level is because I didn’t want to deal with kids. I may just ask him to leave next class.

It’s all the same. It’s a power play. Like when a cop warns a person to stop or they will use force. If they do not follow thru the person will lose respect for the cop and continue his violent act. You can’t debate with him or her.
Tell them to stop
If they continue
Tell them to stop OR You will be forced to do" this or that"
They try it again
Follow thru with promise.

So they really are babies.
Ugh. College children. We had one day where a guy decided to say something crude during practice. They ran line drills for half an hour at least. Never again have they acted that out of line.
We were doing population genetics and the fun activity is to survey the class for easily identified Mendelian traits, so who has attached ear lobes, who has crooked pinky, who can curl their tongue. He took that as an opportunity to inform me that if I wanted he could show me exactly what he could do with his tongue.
In any other circumstance I would have said the same thing, but it’s not something you say to your professor.

Somebody said that to a professor of mine in college. I went to a small liberal arts school, and the biology prof responsed: “You try and I’ll show you just how far I can fit my foot up your ass!” He didn’t smart off after that. I say kick the kid to the curb. Needs to grow the fuck up.
In other news, moar squat PR’s = moar pizza!
It’s an Indian holiday. I spent most of my evening listening to prayers. I need to start going to the gym right from school, it’s been falling to the wayside too often. I want to deserve pizza.
