Thanks! Although to be honest, right now housing is up in the air. We have a standing offer from my parents to live with them, but I don’t know if that’s the smartest thing since we’ll literally be brand new newlyweds. It’ll be pricey, but the places we’re looking at are all in that area and really close to where I’ll be working.
So your parents live in Houston?
Newlywed living with parents, not a good idea in my opinion. Puts way, way to much stress on any marriage.
Yeah, I’m from there actually- Spring/ Woodlands area. And I agree, but it’s a super generous offer and I feel bad turning it down, since it will save us close to 1500$. Even though I’m not that dead set on things, the woman is, and I’m following her lead on this one.
Smart man, lesson in marriage, only fight about the things you are absolutely 100% sure you are correct on. Dont yell even if you are 100% correct as soon as you yell or call her a name you are now 100% fucking wrong, and she will remember it till you are both 80 years old.
I forgot you were from the Woodlands is that were the parents live?

Happy Friday to all!

Dude you are from Houston you should know it will take longer than that. It takes me that long to just get out of Friendswood itself.
Also, byukid, if you decline your parents, DO NOT say something like “Well, wifey and I talked and she wants to live closer.” Say “We appreciate it but we want to live closer.” Unified front!

Listen to the baconator she speaks the truth.
Oh and PMPM I flipped the 500 pound tire this morning with the prowler and farmers walks. That was an experience.

Winning!
Dusting off my prowler soon, hopefully I can get a free morning this weekend and tear up some earth with it!

This was such a weird thing for me to learn, I was so used to being totally frank and honest - I never even realized that it might sound, to the spouse, like I was throwing him under the bus or that he might think my parents would think he didn’t like them.

I come from a family that is blunt and to the point. Took me a while to basically STFU and let the wife navigate the political mindfield of in-laws.

Yea that would be worth it instead of Houston traffic. How much would you spend in Gas alone if you were living with the parents?
Espresso time…
Had a shitty work morning…Glad I went home early…
Funny how people forget the ones who made them. As much as I like to say this I am not self made. I owe everything I am and everything I have to everyone I have ever met.
Crazy how someone opening a door or smiling can affect you. A small compliment from a stranger on the way to an interview…widens and brighten the smile…
Life is amazing.
