I tested my 1RM box squat yesterday and it equals my regular squat 1RM. Am I undershooting in my regular squat or not pausing enough on my box squat? Or is that typical?

My 1RM Box is higher than my regular, because my box squat is higher than my normal squat, parallel, but higher. However, the fact that you have a support underneath your ass might be a reason. I don’t worry too much about which is better, I probably should.

I used the exact same sets as when I tested my regular squat because I’ve never done a box squat and had no idea what to use to start.

I didn’t take video, though I should have.

We’ll see what happens in my next tests I guess.

I let my boyfriend in the gym while I was working out the first time this weekend and had him to spot me. He was ecstatic.

I really hope I get the prowler for christmas. that will make saturday morning conditioning so much more exciting come january.

Also, you need to practice the movement before you test the max load. Throw a set of box squats in at the end of your leg day to learn the move…then retest in a month…

my girlfriend has actually started to take an interest in lifting after i took a whole hour on the phone explaining why, physiologically, she would not get big and muscular like me if she started lifting and she actually expressed a lot of interest in the prowler.
