Just got back from deadlift session and had god-awful form, but did some work.

The last time I DL’d with bad form I pulled my back. Been doing rackpulls ever since.

Rack pulls don’t really translate well on my deadlift personally. I’m going to start adding in reverse band pulls to see how that goes to help my lockout and I’ve seriously got to work on my setup. Anytime I go for reps I tend to not worry about my setup and end up using my back way too much. I mean hell this last set was more like a romanian deadlift as you can see in the video if it actually posted.

I have to sort of… pull myself into the deadlift. I feel way dumb doing it, but I hold the bar and force myself into the right starting position. If I don’t do that I’m liable to eff myself over.

Yah I do that when I am going for a PR, I just tend to not do it on my sets where I am repping out. It’s a bad habit. Feel free to critique my form in the video (I think it shows up so long as you don’t go to this thread through the Hub and go through the GAL section).
I just say focus more on sitting back with the hips, and keeping your head a little more up- I feel a lot better when I start with my hips lower generally and then focus on falling up and back (if that makes sense)
Ah shoot, I killed it. Sorry guys.

Nahh…people went to bed.

What? Weightlifting talk on TNation? The horror.
LM: One way to end that habit is to 1) consciously stop at the bottom of the rep, 2) think “Butt down, chest up,” 3) actually put that booty down, and 4) then pull the next rep. That’s what worked for me. Then again, I’m a sad, weak little man. Seriously though, just doing that when reping deads really helped my back.
Here’s a cat pic, and I’m off to bed.

I’m so glad I don’t have to go in to work until 11. I can stay up a little later and sleep a little later.

FUCK YES!!! THIS WILL BE ONE OF THE MOTHERS OF MY CHILDREN!!!

Morning guys.
Mak, that “tucked sheet” pic reminds me of short-sheeting guys in bootcamp. Re make their rack so when they go to jump in it as the Drill Instructor is screaming at them, they can’t get their feet in and freak out in the frenzy ![]()
Beast, no burning trash, but what about the burning drums of shit? Eh? Or are you all more civilized then I was back in mah day.
We are, in fact, a bit more civilized. We have shit-suck trucks out here. Down on Kandahar, they have a very large shit-lake.

Beast- you are probably getting ready for bed(maybe?) but where in A-stan are you?(if your allowed to say)
Hubby is in Bagram…(prison guard duty)
If your close, you should look him up. He just started getting back into training…
I’m at FOB Lagman, down in Zabul Province. A ways away from Bagram. I can now understand why your hubs wants to fly. Cage-kickers don’t have a whole lot of upward mobility.
Greeny, that full moon pic was taken during the last full moon. Our moon is the same as your moon. I tend to stay outside more during full moons, as it’s pretty damn enchanting.
Killswitch annoys the fuck out of me. Give me something angry and menacing, and I’m good. That loud-ass crying/singing bullshit Killswitch does just fucks the workout up.

Like a bastard. I don’t think I’m going out for a looong time. Everyone who had mixed drinks that night ended up tossing their cookies I think.
Sounds like either a bad mix, or a lack of moderation. Hope you feel better soon. Kinda strange for you to still be reeling two days after.
LOL. And I was doing so good at this moderation thing!! Someone said maybe their ice was bad but I’ve never heard of such thing. We all had different kinds of drinks but who knows? I knew I wasn’t missing anything all these years of not going out! (:
Moderation is for the bushes, drink unto hilarity and make sure you have some water with your shots of tequila.
WTF is this “water” bullshit!?! That right there gets your Man Card suspended!!! No fucking water with tequila! If you’re going to chase it, have a fucking beer on hand!
And moderation is key. Nothing cool or fun about tossing the cookies. Makes you look like an amateur. A true drinker can handle the drink. Young one, you have lots to learn.
Toots, I would love to show you how to go out and have a good time WITHOUT the ill effects.
That goes for anyone who enjoys a good night of inebriation.
dammit fml I can’t even pull 4 plates anymore, every time I try I pull my right trap. 315 flies up, 405 gets an inch up, my trap ignites in stinging flames, and I drop it.

I did the same shit a while ago.
Stop pulling and shrugging for the time being. It’s going to be some time for it to heal.
Ive only pulled twice in 4 weeks, I’m taking 10 whole days off, I’ll be in Florida relaxing (read: drowning myself in booze, fish oil, vit-D, booze, and fried food and maybe curcumin)
