Hey attydeb, Im throwin a gauntlet down, you best be hittin 200 by the end of the year. DO IT SUPERWOMAN!
It’s on Dixies! Okay before I scroll through the rest of the comments. Tonight I did rack pulls: 95x5, 115x5, 135x5, 140x5, 145x5, 150x5, 155x5, 160x3, 160x3, 165x1, 170x1, 175x1, 180x1, 185 FAIL. Blister city on the hands! And the trainer in the rack next to mine pointed his guy client at me when I was up around 160 because his client was doing rack pulls at 115

Whoa, Deb! I’m not a professional here, but I think you should be adding more than 5# between each set. 135x5-150x5-175x3-190x1-200x1 I bet could have been done. You’re doing a shit-ton of reps to only increase 50lbs x 1rep. Again, I am not a professional, but just my $0.02.

I’m at work, writing mah peeps end of the year reviews… yay.

Deb: That’s a shit ton of sets for rack pulls! Good job!

I refuse to enter the volume flame war, but I applaud (1) the weight you were hittin, (2) blister city, and (3) the total domination of all challengers to rack pull supremacy.

Okay Beans…all of your comments duly noted and thanks again. Inky – I did it 5 at a time just to see what I could accomplish since I couldn’t even lift 145 last week doing traditional deads. Rack pulls are easier to lift heavy. Psychologically 5 at a time works for me.

Thanks IH!!

You still didn’t answer my last question, therefore I haven’t even given you my input yet…

Yah Deb, not sure why you’re ramping up so slowly there? You’re essentially limiting your ability to hit a PR when you do that because you tax your CNS so much prior to your actual working sets.

Rack pulls are full of awesome win. Much stronger at them than DLs personally and I think most people are.

I had a shitty fucking day today but felt better after the gym.

Going to write tomorrow’s battle plan and go to bed early.

TIMES FIVE on needing the massage.

Haven’t done a 3RM.
You should be able to pwn 185. But we’ll get to why or why not in a min.
How many days off did you have before you tried pulling a max?

Was probably 2 days off and it was quite some time ago. Haven’t had the guts to try again plus started working with TG and things were put on hold for 3 months.
How do you react from a carb-up? (bass is right btw) Do you pep up the same day, the next day or two days later?

A two day carb up for me makes my Mondays good, etc.
How is/was life stress?

Life stress is practically gone right now.

How focused were you?

Hm…I felt pretty focused at the time.
Focus may or may not be part of your issue.

You need to start. Either get caffeine pills, or drink as much energy drinks or coffee you can get away with. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN A JITTERY STATE. You need to be amped but calm enough to think and behave in a normal manor.

I can drink a grande redeye and take a 200mg pill, after 4-6 diet cokes throughout the day, and be okay. You would be better off with less I’m sure. lol
How long ago did you try 185? Where did you fail?

4 months ago. I couldn’t hit 190. Stayed at 185.

Thanks!
I meant where in the lift did you fail?

Did you break the floor?
Carb up – I feel it the same day

My fail was: I couldn’t lift the bar off the floor at all. Did that huhhhh sound and nothing moved

Sorry at work (unexpectedly – called back from the gym) so wasn’t able to see all responses. I know Beans is in bed.

Deb, where are your rack pulls at? Mine are right below my kneecaps.

IH, I have a mural painted on my wall of a tiger, it is in green set in the jungle, it is awesome. And when I mean on my wall, I mean wall is the canvas. I’ll take a picture next time I am at home.

Too much volume. Jump 10% increments, rounded up so it should be 20 lb jumps. Plus you said your low on carbs? For some reason people (not me) have a horrible time with the dead life while they are low on carbs. I tell them to harden up.

Okay, it’s bed time. Got new blackout drapes…it’s so nice and dark in the bedroom now…I love it.

Yes, Green, right below the knee caps.

I hate you all for talking about rack pulls and deadlifts. I’m fuming with hatred right now!

Nah…not really. It’s a very un-productive day for me. As focused as I was yesterday, I’m now completely disinterested. So…here I am.

So…what’s the latest music trend back there?

Mornin everyone. Not a clue what the latest music trend is beast, I just know I’ve been enjoying the song Malachai - Snowflake. Great song, very interesting music video.
