Ever Feel Like A Thread Killer? (22)

Since Obi Wan is here, when I did some practice rack pulls yesterday, Beans, I definitely felt more in my hammies which “seems” to be the objective. I’m going to vid them again this week after practicing (bar only, 135s). I was definitely not focusing on my glutes enough when doing the pull.
One thing that really affects what gets hit for me is the height of the bar. The higher it is the more it hits my back, hard to get it hitting the glutes (for me).

I thought the only guys who did direct biceps were the ones doing curls in the squat rack? Gee, I’ve never asked a guy to see his biceps or abs…I usually ask how much they deadlift haha

No…Gerard Butler is not hot in cheesy romantic comedies…
Screw the movie, bad movies can’t make a guy unattractive.
Bad personality, yeah. Taking roles to make money, definetely not.

I’ve had to push through sore biceps many times. Totally sucks. Sometimes the first set will loosen it enough to get me through the rest but sometimes it doesn’t.
Hmm, I didn’t even train my biceps directly though. I guess I need to man up.
Either that or learn how to use the intended target muscles. ;)
I retract my back up statement beans.
LOL I winked ;);););

And Deb: when you fire your glutes/get your hips through, it just stands you right up straight.

Your ass should be doing most of the work, Hammies and lower back assisting.

Manning up is what jacks a person up so much they can’t train for a week. I think you know what’s best for your body. Well I don’t train mine directly either…
So, I shouldn’t rip my shirt off and yell before doing a set?
No, you should definitely do this (damn your lag!)

I retract my retraction, you did wink after all.

asking a guy how much he deadlifts is kinda hot. Then again I live in a city where I’ve never met a girl who knew what a deadlift was. And believe me, I somehow bring deadlifts up in the conversations. The closest any female has gotten yet ws when this hot blond babe form the “Fitness and Health Promotion” course at the college guessed what it was by simulating an upright row. …
Yeah because I’m going to deadlift 465 up to my ears.

Note: is deadlift supposed to be two words? I’m pretty sick of these red lines under the word.

I was actually just thinking to myself how much quicker my posts were showing.

OMG these responses are all over the board lol Okay, thanks Beans.

Deadlift = one word I think. Geez, you don’t hit your ears? Slacker.

X 2. I need to work on locking out. Glute activation is pretty hard.

My computer had a virus so I only had time to work and workout this week. Yay me. Went for a long run this morning, had brunch, did some shopping, then decided to get a massage. When I saw this 90lb tiny Asian chick about to massage me I didn’t think it would be ‘deep tissue’ but she definitely proved me wrong. I feel like a whole new person now…

PS. Hai everyone!

Hai Court! I swear those little Asian women can supply a beating.

My deadlifts are definitely done in two parts: I stand up, then pull the bar up. You can see it in my vids. :frowning:

guess I’ll work harder.

this is similar to what happened to me last week.

Never have I felt as many elbows/forearms/whatever dug into sore spots in my legs, back and shoulders. I’m debating between taking a hot bath and going to get ice cream. I’m really craving ice cream. Like been convincing myself for the last hour that I don’t want ice cream because I don’t think I should…

Oh Nate posted a vid where he got almost up and then dropped it and hopped up saying he messed up his back. Ouch!
