There were some appetizers but not many considering we went from 630 to 9 without eating. A lot of people wouldn’t think to eat mid afternoon just in case.

No fireworks for you two in PA?

Depends on what you mean by fireworks…

But, no, we saw some last night. Philly’s were yesterday, I think.

That seriously sucks. We’re going to need lots of noms at our wedding as the tiger can’t go more than 2 hours between feedings.

Yeah I thought the same thing after I hit send on the fireworks comment  No fireworks here, in or out of the bedroom. It’s raining. I could walk down to the water front to see if they pull it off or I could sit here and crane my neck out the balcony to see if I can catch a glimpse.

I always go to the fireworks so I’m a little bummed. After my divorce, my son and I were always together in July and always saw the fireworks together. Now he’s 18…sniffle

Awww…but now he’s a COLLEGE STUDENT!!!

Yep, now I can start sending him care packages in August. I plan on sending $100 a month (how’s that for a care package) but I’ll probably send stuff too. I got those flat rate boxes from the post office where you can fill them for $5 or $10 for the bigger box.

The bitch of not being able to see the fireworks is the last time they had them (an insurance co had a big anniversary party and did professional fireworks on Elliott Bay) it sounded like we were under attack. Since no one knew about the party, the police got a lot of calls that night.

I wish you had been my mom when I was in college!!! $100 a month? That is awesome!

Wow. Ooops!

Yeah I contributed about $15,000 for college but his dad (dentist) is paying for 1/2 of all expenses for 4 years and he’s doing ROTC so they are paying for part. He will take student loans to cover the rest. He won’t be getting a job the first year because it’s a big adjustment.

I figure with the money I send he can eat out once in awhile, maybe see a movie…buy weed and alcohol I’m sure but I’m just going to pretend it isn’t happening

Will he have a vehicle? Or is he in a college town that is easily accessible?
