He had a vehicle but his dad isn’t letting him take it. He will be on campus and is in a college town with lots of public transportation. It’ll be good for him. He’ll become very self sufficient.

Ah, okay. Why isn’t he allowed a vehicle?
Cuz his dad is a douche?

Ah, okay. That’s probably why he’s your ex. ![]()
That’s not an adequate answer. His dad is a control freak. Pat isn’t going to stay in town, live at home and attend some community college. My feeling is kids should go live in a dorm and start living some version of a life on their own.
They are still protected (place to stay, food plan) but not under a parent’s thumb every minute of every day. Time to have some fun, make some mistakes, do your homework without someone telling you to and become an individual. Just my opinion.

Yeah. I did not do any homework. Just went into internet chat rooms til 3 am.
My college was in the middle of nowhere though, in a dry town, in a dry county.
EDIT: I realized that I everything came too easy for me in high school and that I did not know how to handle real “homework”. Studying? What’s that? Had no clue how to truly study. Prolly why I sank into depression and dropped out shortly after my 21st birthday, after flunking every class the last two semesters and wasting my inheritance.
I didn’t know how to study for college because high school was easy. My first semester was a huge adjustment. Then I figured it out.
He is barely on line and very much an athlete (football and wrestling). We compared deadlift and squat #s at graduation – yeah I finally weigh less than him and he kicks my ass on the numbers, as he should. He is also doing ROTC so they will have stuff they have to do that will involve some physical activity. I had a blast in college. I’m hoping he will too.

That’s cool. I never learned how to study. Still don’t know how really. LOL
Is cool you shared DL/squat numbers!
I hate to study and I’m studying right now for an exam at the end of July. This WILL be the last exam I study for. Ugh. This guy who’s in the insurance biz asked me yesterday if I’m taking the exam for fun. I looked at him like he was insane. He said these insurance types like to take professional exams so that they can add the letters behind their names. Just for fun.
Again I looked at him like he was insane. Those insurance guys sure know how to party…let’s take the CPA exam boys…woo hoo. This same guy sits in a social situation and plays sudoku or whatever it is on his phone – at weddings, karaoke…while his wife drinks herself into oblivion.

Wow. Sounds like a fun guy.
Why get married if you’re going to ignore the person you’re married to?
Strange couple. They’ve been married 15 years and have a 3 year old and an 8 month old. No idea why they waited that long. But I don’t care enough to ask ![]()
Okay, bedtime.
Talk to you later, Deb!

Wow! Well, opposites attract, so they say…
Everyone out partying the night away?
Sunday night = homework night
Ate way too much today at two bbq’s and feel like I’m going to explode at any moment.
