Ever Feel like a Thread Killer? (17)

If anyone’s interested, I’m taking my prowler out tomorrow morning, everyone’s invited! Except for Beans, because he’d no-show anyway with some lame ass excuse

REALLY wish I could join. Those things seem fun in a you’ll puke fast kinda way!

I’m going to a party tonite!

If the party is in your pants, I assume we’re all invited.

Those can still be fun. I hope you have a good time.

Can you go to another gym?
I guess I could…but I’d feel like I was cheating

Plus, theres only one other one that I know and it’s much smaller. It also helps when you already have relationships with people, and others recognize you for just being there. It’s like a family!

So you two been doing “conditioning” work now? Awesome.

You taking your prowler out tomorrow (ever)?
yeah, I’m fat. i don’t want to eat less, so it looks like I need to move more. Steady state two nights a week and a prowler day on weekends.

Sled is coming out tomorrow, rain or shine. Just bought a rope. Who the fuck is going to spend $75 on a harness when you can just spend $10 on rope?

Yeah, I need to get a rope for mine too. But I’ll be burning up the pavement tomorrow AM, see if I can catch a severe case of Prowler Flu!

I need to do steady state shit too, to try and lose all this extra bullshit I got, but it’s sooooo boring. I’m sticking to hill sprints and prowler for a while, see how that works for me

Oh and Beans…you got a camera operator lined up? Film it, especially when you’re about to toss your cookies all over the place, it looks cool, trust me.

I’m surprised you would do steady state. I started losing muscle when I was spending 45 mins on a treadmill even with 10 mins of HIIT within those 45 mins. That’s when I switched to pure HIIT. I either do sprints or complexes or this Rachel Cosgrove body weight routine. 16 minutes of work with 10 mins of rest in there and it is KILLER (on your back gasping for air killer). Great EPOC.

I think Eric Cressey had something to say about energy system stuff where you want to keep your heart rate below 70% of max, or above 90% of max when doing aerobic/cardio stuff - when you’re emphasizing strength.
It was something about endomorphs and PLers strength gains not being inhibited if your heart rate is below 70%
High Intensity Intervals are definitely better for you, but can really kick the shit out of you if you try to do them too many days a week.

70-90% of max HR tends to be ‘junk miles’ for cyclists/joggers/distance rowers. It does improve lung capacity, and is a sustainable pace, but it does seem to lead to muscle loss, along with the fat loss.

Uh oh guys, I’m teaching a BJJ class this wknd. I have no idea what to teach, my cross choke from close guard is good, maybe I’ll just do variations of it. It’s going to be a pain in the ass trying to get a bunch of guys to listen to a blue belt girl. They respect my technique because it’s proven itself, but getting them to do a warm up and organized rolling is going to be difficult.
PiiAtP?

Where’s the chart for Max heart rate? I mean, is that the HR you achieve right before your ticker pops like a balloon? Whats the identifying criteria of “Max?”

Or is it some number that bangs your age and weight against each other, like on an elliptical or some shit?
