If I’m going to do 30 mins of uphill walking after weights two days a week, should I bring some whey to drink between the weights and cardio?

While lifting I drink 2 scoops of workout fuel, and 2 scoops of the following: 60% cheapo whey, 15% hydro whey & 15% BCAA. I mix that in 20oz, drink 10, refill, drink 10oz, refill, etc etc etc until I’m done.

Should I just stretch out my during workout drink, or finish it, drink some of my regular mix, and drink water while walking?

Thnaks man.
I’ll usually do 2-4C water w/ creatine/bcaa & 1/2C or so of juice or tea w 1T of malto-dextrin while [and I’m not judging you here] doing harder cardio post-workout. (also, I generally only do cardio after an upper body day. On leg day - a slow 400m walk, concurrent with not vomitting is about as hard as I go.)

If you were sub 170lbs I’d say maybe to added protein, but personally I ‘feel’ better with slightly sweetened clear liquids during cardio/aerobic activity.
I just don’t want my body to start eating the muscle I just spend 45-1.5 mins trying to build.

hmmm… Trav i like the meal idea, but not really an option.

hmmm… damnit

btw Duck, no worries, you could judge me if you wanted to. I won’t get offended.

I always do cardio in a seperate session.

If I was going to do it that way I’d load myself with some sugar and that supp soup you’ve got there with some whey and get on the treadmill or w/e. The carbs are what’s going to save your muscle at that point.

Again, I’d only worry if you were in hardgainer territory. with the amount of protein you already have in your system from eating right the rest of the week, [My opinion is] you’ve got very little likelihood of going catabolic.
I’m not telling you not to drink protein during a cooldown really, it’s more my perspective that I personally, don’t even like drinking something as thick as milk when I’m doing energy system-type stuff.

I haven’t checked your log lately [no scat humor please], so one other area I’d be curious about is if you’re working volume or intensity for your lifts. ie: if you were doing GVT or something, I might be more inclined to recommend getting more fuel in between or during your cooldown. If I were doing 5-3-1 or 5 sets of triples or something, I don’t think there’d be as strong a need to get the protein in pronto. (JMO)

(I’m not sure if I should go public with my NBA choice, or if I’ll just fuck it for them too if I do…)

Good. I forgot how much my mom loves to spoil me when she only sees me a few times a year. We went to the outlets and I got a bunch of stuff - shorts, shirt, work pants, work shirt, shoes. Plus I treated myself to some new stuff from VS.

I’m tired though. I had my busy morning and we took Coast Hwy basically all the way down and kept stopping to wander around. We left my place at 11 and got to the hotel at 3:30. It’s only like 1-1.5hrs on the freeway.

Sounds like a good day though! You should get to bed though, no MMF tonight for you

It was a good day. Definitely too tired for a MMF. Will you still spoon?

Hai Court! My parents still spoil me at MY age. It just never gets old

Haha, I guess so

Why am I awake!!! Hai deb

Thanks to fucking Trav (<3) I’ve been doing more reps the last couple days, and I think I’ll continue. I basically dropped the weight on my top set, but still only getting 5-8 reps on it.
