Even More Movies You've Watched This Week

The fast and the furious 6-pretty good. basically an action movie, the street racing was minimal. The rocka and the rest of the cast are cool and entertaining.

Hangover 3-decent with some good laughs. The series is overrated IMO

Looks awesome. Incredible cast. Well done on the review as well, as usual.[/quote]

Thank you, I appreciate your kind words.

Really apart from Gleeson and Cheadle most of the cast have either landed somewhat mediocre roles in popular films or are obscure Irish actors. They all do very well though, there’s only a few I think should have been re-cast.

It is very funny though, if you’ve seen any film by his younger brother, you’ll know more or less where the humour is headed. Of course that’s not meant negatively, but same ballpark nonetheless.

Just watched Dark Skies tonight now that it’s on demand. Ending was terrible and ruined the movie IMO, but I gotta say it still freaked me right the fuck out. Those “grey” aliens are like my one big thing that scares the shit out of me. I used to have recurring nightmares as a kid just like the ones in the movie.

So, saw After Earth today…

Doesn’t even deserve a review, doesn’t even fucking deserve one.

Do not watch that slothful shit, all it did was bring back cold memories of Shyamalan’s other shit work and even a tinge of Battlefield Earth.

If there’s one blockbuster movie you forego this June, it’s After Earth. Save your money, get ready for Man Of Steel instead.

Just curious why it was so bad. The previews aren’t even good so I’m not surprised.

BINGO!!!

IT was, slow, dull with the worst story and action scenes from the mind of a 80year old sloth

I really don’t even want to say all of the bad things about it, because I’ll be here for too long writing it up. However, I’ll give some insight.

The story is bland, it’s extremely, mind-numbingly bland. I feel like the premise was reasonable enough for there to be something of substance hidden there, but they threw any chance of that away by the onset of the final script. All it amounts to was a studio giving Will Smith a green light to take producer credit and cash in on giving his son some exposure. It’s insane to even think that they are father and son, because they are entirely devoid of chemistry the whole time they’re on screen. There is not one five minute fucking span of time that gives me any inkling of real bond between them both.

It’s only somewhat redeeming features are Will Smith’s capable acting once he gets his shit together, and the overblown CGI of modern cinema. Everything else is dredge with no particular sense of worth or sustainability.

They threw “The Happening” and “Planet Of The Apes” into a bucket and pounded them both into a smelly pulp, this movie is that smelly pulp.

I’m more just pissed that it was a Will Smith movie equivalent of corporate sponsorship to get his son in the limelight. I won’t be too annoyed at Shyamalan, because he’s the type to fall for anything these days, he’s been on a downhill tumble since The Village and he’s showing no signs (pun intended) of stopping.

We should stop giving Shyamalan the benefit of the doubt and just let him fade away for other, fresher minded directors to take his place. He’s past his expiration date and there’s no evidence of him bringing it back any time soon.

I hate to have to say it, but Jaden Smith is a waste of perfectly good genes. He has no discernible talent and is very easily unlike-able. This movie actually offended me, it did, I feel offended. Because it’s a cop-out and Will Smith should have known better than to follow his son through with something that he’s not cut out to do, and taking people’s money in order to do it. I can’t even continue to talk about it because I feel enraged, but don’t let yourself or anyone you know go see it, stop them.

I heard nothing good about After Earth, not ONE good thing.

I fact that Big Kahuna describes it in the same sentence with The Happening tells me I will wait til it comes out on cable to watch it.

I think Will Smith is an entertaining actor overall, pity they would put him in a movie with such a shitty plot.

I am also psyched for the new Superman to come out.

Oh it’s almost as ridiculous as The Happening. I won’t say it’s quite so bad, because The Happening was a fucking disaster on all fronts, but it’s cutting it very close.

The worst part is that Will Smith himself practically came up with the whole plot, he has production credit because he was overlooking the script and making sure it fit with his ideas, he’s the one who approached Shyamalan to make the movie with him.

Will Smith can be a very good actor, the same cannot be said for his son. It doesn’t even come naturally enough for him to grow into his father’s image through time and experience, there’s just no hope at all.

Yes, please do not spend any of your money on it, and do not let any of your loved ones fall prey to the same fate. I knew it would be bad going in, but I have an obligation to see it regardless, I pity those who were expecting a lot more.

Bro, this is Will Smith we’re talking about…“they” don’t “put” him in anything. I’d imagine he has all the creative control he can handle at this point.

Saw Fast and Furious Six.

If you can ignore the flat soap opera plot line and the extremely unlikely stunts…this was a bad ass action movie that shows biceps seem to be back in action in Hollywood.

Re-watched Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte last night. Excellent film, very noirish in terms of visual style. And I never get tired of hearing Bette Davis’ neurotic voice screaming and yelling while she slips further into the throes of insanity.

You only ever watch weird old movies.

This is 40 - Comedy from Judd Apatow about the married couple from Knocked Up as they turn 40.

Attempting to watch this was a pretty miserable experience. Leslie Mann appears to be the most miserable, ball-busting cunt in the history of vaginas. Paul Rudd is the dopey husband who’s afraid of his own shadow and fucking TERRIFIED of his wife. Their kids are awful, whiny assholes. The “funny” moments were so few and far between that I couldn’t even finish watching. I wanted to kill myself after about a half hour.

Don’t waste any of your time or money. This movie is a piece of shit, and it makes me question Judd Apatow’s sobriety and will to continue living.

Rating: 2/10

Molested would imply that it wasn’t consensual.
