Hahaha thanks I’m actually from Washington, DC but live in Fairfax, VA for now

I just got done watching Hobo With A Shotgun and it was easily one of the craziest movies I’ve ever seen. It’s really similar to Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse, but more messed up. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a good gory movie because this one has a lot of it.

Oh, and the main character from Trailer Park Boys is in the opening scene. That’s all I’ll say haha.

Red State.

Holy crap…this must win the award for most head shots in one movie.
Thanks for the recommendation. Pretty good watch. Cooper’s voice was the one thing that bothered me at times. The actor was great, but sometimes I just couldn’t understand him lol.

I’m surprised I haven’t heard of this. I’m definitely watching this tomorrow.
Sarah Michelle Gellar and the Rock! sign me in

“Septien”

Probably the weirdest film I’ve ever seen. Extremely entertaining because every second you’re wondering where the hell it’s going.

Three odd-ball adult brothers live in the house they grew up in, yet the dynamic between them is nowhere near normal. I don’t want to give anything away, but the plot reaches a point where you just know something heavy and dreadful is going to happen. Clocking in at only 80 minutes, it’s just enough to wrap up in a tidy and funny tale.

Dwarf Rating: *****

Ah shit. Another Highlander fan.

Dude, and Justin Timberlake. Hate all you want lol, I think he’s funny and a pretty decent actor.

I watched “In Time” last night, good concept for a movie and I think it was a pretty good watch.

Timberlake is a decent actor, I used to really hate the guy but I like his work.

Makes me more eager to see Haywire with Gina Carano now. She’s got looks, she’s got skills, and she sho 'nuff has meat on them bones!!!
Damn right.

Looking forward to see Haywire next year. Should be good. And I love Gina’s body and fighting skills.

Cyborg rules though.

x2 I could never take him serious after NSYNC (which I will admit I liked and still enjoy the randomly lol) but once I saw him do “Dick In A Box” with Andy Samberg I opened up because that was hilarious. He was pretty good in Alpha Dog as well.

Too good.

Also Rooney Mara Ass is too nice.
I would take Rooney Mara on as my second wife. I am neither Mormon, nor Muslim.
I think her sister Kate is hotter.

Well said, I saw this and thought “this is the most deranged bitch I have seen since Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction.”

Great movie, complex and hard to figure out, but worth watching.

“Lake Mungo”

Extremely unsettling and creepy mockumentary about a family dealing with paranormal events after the tragic drowning death of their 16 year old daughter, as they piece together what really happened to her.

Not really a horror film in the modern sense, but a well thought out and well-made film that gets under your skin and into your head.

I also enjoyed it. I thought it was better than the Swedish version. The nudity is very nice.

Role Models, I forgot how fucking hilarious this movie is.

Saw the Straw Dogs remake, yesterday. While the original (1971) stands the test of time and is much more graphic and gritty than the remake I was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t bad at all. James Woods is in it so thats always good, and Eric Northman (dont know his real name, the blonde vampire in True Blood) plays an excellent son of a bitch. Some subtle changes from the original (the original takes place in the sticks of England, this takes place in a small town in Mississippi) and I thought Dustin Hoffman was a mathematician in the original. But anyway its worth a watch if your bored. But I behoove you to see the original

Omg the girl from American Horror Story. Whey secksi. She is crazy in that show, though.

Okay so I got to see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo last night.

Somehow I managed to escape all the talk and I didn’t have even a remote clue what it was about. And boy am I glad I went into it with no expectations or pre-conceived notions.

It was a superbly made movie. I haven’t read the book or seen the original but even I could tell that the attention to detail was amazing. Also, the soundtrack kicked ass.

Probably the most tension filled movie I’ve ever seen. Sitting down eating toast still had me kinda nervous.

Thought the first 15 and last 15 mins were a bit slow but overall a great movie. Kind of a Bond-esque intro as well…

Red State. I liked it. The preacher was the high point of the movie.
OK I have read 3 dif things about this movie. Drama, Action, thriller.

Without giving up to many spoilers what is it. Tell us Master Blaster inquiring minds need to know.
Three boys trolling for pussy on the internet when they get more than they bargained for. It starts off as typical horror/suspense, then it goes into action/thriller. The preacher is the highlight of the movie. That man could sell water to a water snake. That makes no sense, but the preacher is the highlight.

It is NOT pure horror.
It takes the Westboro Baptist Church to the logical extreme, and answers the question “What would happen if these people would stop at nothing to make the world the way they want it?”

Not horror at all, just horrifically awful people.

John Goodman is very good in his role as well as the preacher (Michael Parks - sheriff from Kill Bill vol 1).
Agreed. Goodman surprised me…even though his screwed up way of walking and generally carrying himself makes me wonder how much damage his earlier extreme obesity actually caused.

The Preacher didn’t break character once. He could have been a real person. He didn’t overplay it at all.

I thought the movie went left for a while near the end when “that thing” happened but it didn’t.
Really excited to see this… Read through the thread and realized it was on Netflix. One of my friends (Nick Braun) plays Billy-Ray in the movie… Heard he killed it and Kevin Smith immediately casted him for his next movie, but never got a chance to watch it. Can’t wait to see it based off your guys’ reviews
