Even More Movies You've Watched This Week

Season of the Witch- with Nick Cage.

#1- I don’t normally hate on Cage, never really saw a problem with his acting and love several of his movies. That said, this was bit of a weird role for him and didn’t really think he fit in the movie.
On Netflix the rating for this movie was awful, but it was the wife’s turn to pick a movie. The movie kept me interested and it was ok, not horrible like the ratings showed though.

Fast Five - Easily the best of the series. Just no-holds-barred action. Watch after the credits because there is a set up for a F&F 6 there.

Everything Must Go - I don’t really know what to say about this one. It was good, but it wasn’t particularly funny, or sad, or really anything. It was just good. Not sure if that makes sense. Will Ferrell showed me he can do dramatic without being ridiculous though.

Re: Limitless - I loved this movie. I love the premise, and I thought Cooper was perfect for the role. It’s not a great movie, but I enjoyed it as much as I’ve enjoyed great movies, if that makes any sense. It’s fun to think about what I’d do in his shoes or what I could do with NZT.

Hesher is on tap for tonight.

I disagree, original F&F is the best one

Drive- almost turned it off after 45 mins. Started to improve and ended on a decent note. Weird soundtrack to the movie though

Yeah - thought the same. Did like the sound track though.

Our Idiot Brother

Great ensemble cast, but it certainly revolves around Paul Rudd as the title indicates. A great mixture of touching and comedic moments that illustrate the various lives we can lead and the toll that takes on our personal and family life. Would be a great “couple stays in on a Friday night” film.

Bad Teacher - Sucked

Re watched Limitless for Roybot, I took off my cynical hat and just watched it, I must say it was a fun flick, I was way too hard on it, my apologies Roy.

I want to see that “Darkest Hour” flick. Looks fun. I actually enjoyed Skyline. Especially the ending. Was pretty bad ass in my book. Just watched Super 8. Enjoyable, but I would have liked more interaction between the kids and the alien.

On tap: Conan. So looking forward to this one!!

Well said! I agree.

No need to apologize. I’m glad you enjoyed it the second time - it would’ve sucked if you gave it a fair go and still didn’t like it. Most get a kick out of it for the wish fulfilment aspect of it alone.

I had the chance to watch it when it was first released and I didn’t, because I couldn’t sound out the negative buzz which, in hindsight, took the movie too seriously. It seems now that it’s getting due credit through word-of-mouth, and the ratings are slowly creeping up. I’m happy that it’s getting the recognition it deserved from the start.

Cult classic

Watched the first Laid To Rest AFTER seeing the second one a few weeks back.

These are really good. Better than the Hatchet movies as far as modern-day slashers go. The kills are just really awesome !

On tap : Chaos. Never seen it, and am really curious after all the controversy went it came out (Roger Ebert infamously condemned it at the time).

By coincidence both films star Kevin Gage. He was great as a really good guy in LTR.

I got X-Men First Class on Blu-Ray for $9.99 on Amazon and just watched that last night. Great movie and I love the scene with Magneto in Argentina.

Straw Dogs (remake)

I enjoyed it, not having seen the original but understanding the premise of it may have skewed my decision though. I’ll check out the original over the weekend and report back. But overall, I enjoyed it for what it is.

Just saw “Wrecked”.

Adrien Brody stars as a man who wakes up trapped in a crashed automobile in a steep wilderness ravine, injured and clueless with no hope of rescue. As the man struggles to survive, he slowly remembers the events that put him there.

Excellent film that has me rooting for him, then not giving a shit if he dies, then rooting for him again!

The original was incredible, I liken the movie to Midnight Cowboy as its effect and the way it makes you feel stands the test of time…fucking Dustin Hoffman is an amazing and somewhat forgotten actor, he really shows his chops in this one…def check the original

The Ides of March

I’m starting to appreciate Ryan Gosling more and more. Clooney, Hoffman, and Giamatti were also excellent in supporting roles. The film moved at a very fast paced for what I figured would be a very slow, drawn out drama and that’s certainly not a bad thing. If it had of been any longer I could have saw myself not liking it as much.

9/10

Cult classic[/quote]

Yes indeed.

Point Blank (A Bout Portant) - another quality French thriller. A trainee nurse saves a patient and becomes part of a major conspiracy. Story kicks in around the 30 minute mark. The safe cracker is badass and he isn’t even the villain.

The Muppets - Honestly they could of just showed still shots of the Muppets and I still would love it. In continuing my history getting all whiny and whimpery at movies continue the Rainbow Connection song makes me sad as fuck ( I swear I didnt cry though I SWEAR)

30 min or less - Full of suck. they made the movie in 30 minutes. Too bad because I generally find all the actors pretty funny.
