“Chef”

Written and directed, (and starring) Jon Favreau.

One of the most entertaining films I’ve seen in years!
The cast was great and the food prep shots were utterly mouthwatering!

HIGHLY recommended!

Watched this with the wife on your recommendation. Everything you said was spot-on. Just a fun, happy little movie. Very refreshing.
Ditto. It was stupid for me and the woman to watch on my clean diet right now. Wanted a cuban soooooo bad
Pretty good thriller, some nightmarish moments and some twists… but the last scene sucked!
Still a worthy view.

Don’t remember much about this one, other than it being very twisted and pretty good. Definitely worth a watch though.

watched deliver us from evil with eric bana last night.hes a cop that gets 'hunches" and comes up against some possessed war vets-actually really good and pretty damn creepy

Anyone seen focus yet? Was gonna give it a go this afternoon.

Steel Nation. Is that you in your pic because if so you look like the shady Russian from limitless.?

1408

John Cusack plays a world weary author who writes books about haunted hotels. On an anonymous tip, he hears about a hotel in NY with a room 1408 in which no one has ever lasted an hour. First half was scary, then it got a little stupid, then got scary again. There were multiple endings filmed, the one I saw was pretty vague; seemed to intentionally raise more questions than it answered.

John Cusack is one of those actors who always seems to be playing himself so it’s hard for me to really get into movies with him past Grosse Point Blank.

Whiplash - gripping and unnerving. This is both the teacher from hell, while possibly being the teacher who changes your life for the better. A character who you want to stab in the eye with a pencil while giving him a hug for bringing out the best in you. Outstanding performance by JK Simmons.

“Thanks For Sharing”

Pretty good film about people recovering from sex addiction. Funny at times, poignant and revealing at other times.

It was fun to watch.

When you (or anyone else) gets done with it please explain the scene where Gerald McRaney searches Will Smith’s hotel suite in Buenos Aires.
Just got back from the film. Have to say. I didn’t understand that part of the movie at all. Unless he knows the girl was there and just wanted to maintain character. He does say at the end of the movie ‘die with the lie’. That would be the only thing i can think of. Also in the first part of the film Will Smith tells that couple to maintain the con. Even if you get busted. More echoing of his fathers words. Maybe.

As for the film. I enjoyed it. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if the last 10 minutes had not be utter garbage. That’s just my opinion though. The film has a great pace to it and is fun to watch. Hands down best part of the movie is the betting scene at the super bowl.

I can’t remember the last time Will Smith was in a half decent flick. Margo Robbie is gonna make a lot of money.

The short story is one of the more disturbing stories I’ve read, give it a read if you haven’t already.

That’s a first.

Some folks really, really don’t “get it” when it comes to the trauma caused by gunshot wounds.

Interesting read. Sure. I was more referring to the chain of events in the last few minutes of the film that felt rushed and not as well thought out as the rest of the film.

Saw Whiplash. Thought it was as good a film as I’ve seen in a long time.

CHAPPiE–pretty entertaining flick. Thumbs up.

In honor of my Vegas trip this past weekend I watched Showgirls on the plane on Friday night.

Nothing short of a masterpiece…

Saw Foxcatcher this weekend. Couldn’t get into it at all.

Watched Stake Land again this weekend. Had the potential to be a fucking horror masterpiece but for some issues with the casting/script.

Plus, Danielle Harris is the cutest thing alive.
