Finally saw Fist of the North Star… never seen so many exploding heads in one flick. Though, I would have appreciated more brutality, as opposed to just violence, if that makes sense.
Caught Sorcerer:
Needless to say, It’s not actually about sorcery (I believe it’s the type of truck they use). Good flick. Pretty suspenseful, even if the stakes are a bit more subdued compared to today’s movies (life/death vs. fate of the world). Plot moves along, goes slow where it needs to and fast where it needs. Acting was good, though Roy Scheider overacted occasionally, as he tends to do. It could probably be 10 minutes shorter, as the beginning tends to drag-on with setting up the character’s history, which doesn’t make that much difference to the story… don’t be discouraged by the subtitles. They only last about 15 min.
It’s actually a remake of an old French movie, which is supposed to also be really good, but I haven’t seen.
Overall, I enjoyed it. I wouldn’t watch it with my girl or anything (there’s hardly any women in it at all)… but as a dude taking it easy… good stuff.
Also saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. I thought it was pretty good. I kind of liked the first one better with James Franco.
Also watched the movie Snowpiercer with Chris Evans. It was an interesting movie and idea. I really enjoyed it.
Watched the Spike Lee remake of Old Boy last night. What a mind fuck. Good flick.
“Devil”
A supernatural “whodunnit” thriller by M. Night Shyamalan. One of his better pictures.
Five people share a stalled elevator, and the devil is present.
Creepy and suspenseful.
^ Devil was pretty good.
Watched Son of Batman over the weekend. It was decent, but could of been better.
Also re-watched HotFuzz… Hilarious!
Blindness
Another survivalish movie in the genre of the divide and the road. That being said, it’s well made and entertaining. It’s not as good as the road or as extreme as the divide… with the standards you see in these types of movies, though no cannibalism.
The trailer explains the plot. I liked it and I suggest you check it out, but not w/ your girl.

I had forgotten about this one. Thought it looked pretty good but never got around to watching it. Might have to check it out.

Yeah this one is very good. I’m not sure how I stumbled onto it, but I remember it being one of the better post-apocalyptic movies I’ve seen.
Saw Hercules last Friday. It was ok, but could have been a lot better with a better director. Worth a rental when it comes out, not much more.
Guardians of the Galaxy
Best cinematic experience I’ve had all year.

I am Groot
Legends of the Fall
Yeah, I know, old film, but still great after seeing it a dozen times.

Bro, haven’t you ever heard of a SPOILER ALERT???
LOL, great movie. Top 3 Marvel movies IMO.

I’d say it’s THE BEST. Knowing nothing about the comic/characters and forcing myself to stop watching previews a couple of months ago probably added to the enjoyment. The only two Marvel flicks that come close were the first IronMan and The Avengers. Also really enjoyed X-Men: First Class, but GOTG beats 'em all. Probably see it in the theatre again before it leaves.
Also saw the new Planet Of The Apes. Didn’t see the one with Franco so not sure how much was left on the table, but thought this was really well done. Not sure how they integrated the CGI with the live-action, but the actors did an awesome job. Gary Oldman might be the most versatile dude in Hollywood.

Gotta help your T-Nation brothers out and warn us of possible spoilers.
I’m still going to watch this when it’s out on dvd.

Winter Soldier is in my Top 3 with GOTG and Avengers. It’s possible I’m underrating the first Iron Man, but that’s mainly (I think) because 2 was just ok and 3 was fucking terrible. Entertaining on some levels, but just an awful movie overall. I don’t count the X-Men or Spider Man movies since they’re owned by Sony or Fox or something, but even if I did none of them would beat out the Top 3.
I also loved the new Apes movie. You should see the first one; it is very good also.
