Saw Transformers: Age of Extinction last night. As a disclaimer I am a huge Transformers fan. I take them for what they are worth. Dope technology, awesome cars, hot chick, and explosions.
Overall thought it was good. Wasn’t my favorite of the 4 but was entertaining. Marky Mark is awesome as always and the new transformations and designs are pretty sick. Plot is what you expect from a Transformers movie. Dinobots completely live up to the hype. The new bad guy was interesting and definitely opened a path for the next two movies.
Only thing I didn’t really like is that some parts got super green screeney (not a real word). For example there is a scene where they are driving in a car and you can tell the backdrop is a green screen. I always liked in the other 3 movies that it never felt too fake (or as real as watching giant alien robots fighting alongside/against humans could possibly be).
If you are a fan of Michael Bay or Transformers go see it. If you hated the other movies don’t waste your time.

Going back to 2005 for this one. Rome from HBO. Just finished watching both seasons. If anyone missed this, highly recommended.
X2 Rome was good.
x3, so pissed it was only 2 seasons long. That and Deadwood both ended way too soon. I guess it’s better that way than having them go the way of The Sopranos though.

Rome was damn near perfect. The Wire went one season longer than it should have. It went 5 it should have stop at 4 and it would have also been perfect.

Is Mark Walberg replacing Shia Lebuff as Sam Witwicky ? Or is Walberg playing a whole new character ?

Nice to see fellow fans.
From what I read, the budget was too high so they had to abbreviate it into two seasons. Three seasons and it would’ve been near perfect IMO.
Bit of trivia. Ray Stevenson, the actor who played my favorite character, Titus Pullo, in Rome has a small role in the Thor movies. He plays one of Thor’s friends. He also played the Punisher in the second one, Punisher: War Zone. I actually think he made a really good Punisher.

New character.
I watched the film today. It’s utterly absurd, so much so that the movie sort of becomes brilliant in its absurdity.
And, yes, the Dino-bots live up to their hype. They are by far the best part of the movie.
I thought they were the worst they didn’t talk and we watch prime kick grimlick’s ass then he rides him. Watch War of the Dinobots from the g1 cartoon that has more heart than that horrible film. Whenever I waste my money on these Bay travesty I picture him being the kid who just took two transfromer toys just bashed them together and that is were he gets his stories

I haven’t seen it yet(probably will), but seeing Optimus ride Grimlock in the trailer honestly turned me off. Grimlock would never let that happen, ever, what a destruction of character that is.

That’s what I’m saying, if someone hasn’t read the comic Grimlock is much smarter and a proud warrior he is portrayed more as the anti hero, in the cartoon(until season 3 and the movie) he was a toned down version of the comic. I say again watch War of the Dinobots Grimlock Sludge and Slag the original 3 are conned into fighting prime, grimlock leaves prime on the ground and decides not to finish him because it would have been too easy.
22 Jump Street was pretty funny. Jonah Hill’s poetry reading was hilarious.
Watched Her by Spike Jonze. A very odd movie, yet I enjoyed it. The “phone” sex part had me laughing. Really makes you think how gadgets and technology are taking over our lives.

He was also in the second G.I. Joe movie as firefly (I think that’s the name). I enjoyed Punisher Warzone for what it was.
