What was that movie you guys were talking about a few months ago? The Raid or something like that? The crazy martial arts movie? I skimmed the thread (very lazy skim) but couldn’t find it. Would like to check it out[/quote]
I just watched The Raid recently. I don’t know how I have not seen this before, it was awesome and I would definitely recommend it.
I need to see what other hidden gems there are on Netflix.
This looks stupid as fuck. I thought the trailer actually started out kind of funny but then it just devolved into overly-gross potty humor. I was hoping it would end up actually being decent but I guess not

That trailer was so offensive I had to walk out before it ended.
Not that good. The visuals were nice, but the story was a bit transparent, and at times they should have keenan ivory wayans pop up and yell “Message!” They also have a couple ridiculous montages that are like half music video and just make your eyes roll.
Superman/Doomsday
Pretty decent. I’m not the biggest supes fan, to tell you the truth, so it’s nice to see him get his ass kicked as well as kill people (with blood). It’s too bad, because some a lot of the animated DC stuff looks pretty good. I even heard wonder woman was good.

This looks way more schlapstick than the original, but I’ll be watching regardless just because the characters in the original are so damn funny.
So, I just watched 22 Jump Street. It was entertaining at times and Jonah and Channing work just as well together as they did in the first one. However, it just fell flat in my opinion. Many of the jokes just seemed forced and there were entire scenes where I just sat and didn’t even chuckle. I don’t know, maybe I just went in with too high of expectations. I enjoyed how the film poked fun at itself but it was sad that it ended up actually being as lame as it joked that it was. I would recommend seeing it, but don’t make the mistake of thinking it will be better than the first like I did.
I’m heading to Costco to pick up the Lego movie to surprise my boy; he loved it in the theater. I have to say I’m pretty excited to watch it as well, but I haven’t seen it yet.

I’ve been working my way through this list on movies

Under the Red Hood and Flashpoint Paradox are the two best DC animated film in my opinion. Marvel doesn’t have one that I truly like, but the Hulk Vs Thor/Wolverine was ok.

I heard it was a block-buster, and had a nice plot build-up.

I’ll check those out today. I didn’t really like Planet Hulk as my experience with the Hulk has typically been the quiet recluse that gets angry and smashes stuff so the well spoken and at times calm Hulk screwed up my perception a bit.

I agree… though, only because of deadpool. I actually like hulk v thor more, just because hulk goes crazier… i think he even got sent to hell, and they were like, “this dude’s too crazy for us.”

OK, but they better put a post-credits sequence in the next trailer or I’m out.
