Even More Movies You've Watched This Week II

Saw Amazing spiderman 2 what a let down and a mess. Bad story too shoved in, bad effects(surprisingly) and really the only redeeming quality was they had the balls to do the Stacy storyline. Also no mid credit scene but I guess there was some lame ass download an app and turn it on at the right time and you see some sinister six things or something to that effect too much effort for me. Oh well wizard of oz friday with the niece then the following week bulk cycle godzilla

I thought the effects were good in Amazing Spidey 2. Soundtrack was pretty good too. Other than that it wasn’t a good movie. Electro sucked as a villain. I don’t like the fact that he was more of a pity villain. I remember seeing Rhino in the trailer and all we got to see was like two minutes of him. There was just too much lovey dubey crap between Peter and Gwen. It felt like a teen romance flick and the action took a backseat to it. I can’t believe there were so many people raving over the movie. I just don’t get it.

See I thought the first movies effects were amazing, this one it seemed like something from the early 00’s, teah too much emo angst “oh I love you but I can’t be with you and stuff” we got that in the first film I wanted more web swinging. Totally agree about elektro why does every villain have to be sympathetic now? Why not just let them be villains? I agree about the soundtrack especially Elektro’s theme(when it first came on and there was the subliminal voices I thought it was someone on a cell phone). His song reminded me of the band xorcist

I am glad you guys chimed in on Spiderman 2, I was debating about seeing it but I think I will just wait to red box it.

I fucking hated it so much. No plot and a fucking horrendous lack of character development/motivation.

Half in the Bag do a good job of summing up how shite it is.

Agreed. It was not just crap. It was mind-numbingly stupid crap that sets yet another precedent for more mind-numbingly stupid crap to be made because there is no possibility for fucking Spiderman movie to flop.

Indeed. I get majorly butthurt when I hear or read people say they believe the Amazing Spiderman movies to be superior than the originals lol.

Marvel needs to buy Spider-Man back from Sony. It never needed a reboot. They could have skipped the whole Amazing Spider-Man series and introduced him again under another actor somewhere in the Marvel/Avengers timeline.

Spiderman 2 is for Tweens, not adults.

Save your money. And your time.

Never happen Sony makes way too much money churning out these films. Sony did lose the rights to Ghost Rider, Blade, daredevil, and Punisher so hopefully we can get some R rated Marvel Knight movies

I’ll admit I liked that Punisher War Zone movie. The movie being so over the top and ridiculous is what made it fun to watch for me.

I know Sony won’t give it up, but one can dream.

Just watched 12 Years a Slave over the weekend. Excellent Movie, great performances, very tough too watch. Recently I have watched movies that went on 30 or 45 minutes too long, this movie was perfectly times throughout.[/quote]

I want to see somewhere put on a 12 Years a Slave/Django Unchained double bill. Watch 12 years first to build up the indignation, have a beer break, then watch Django for some sweet retribution.

thats a perfect combo, obviously in that order

Watched “Moon” the other day without knowing much about it.

Not bad… flick about 1 guy in space, so it has the existential tones you’d expect. There’s a little bit of a twist to it, which I won’t spoil; but it doesn’t even really bother trying to cover it up, which was actually kind of refreshing.

It could have skipped Kevin Spacey’s part, though… probably just included for pun’s sake.

Also saw The Heat the other night. It was better than I expected, but that’s because of Melissa McCarthy and obviously not sandra B. There was no romance, so that was cool.

Caught “Happy Accidents” with my girl. It’s like 15 years old and “independent,” I guess. The main reason why I caved on it was because she loves a love story, but I saw it listed in the Sci-Fi genre, so I thought it might not be typical… and it wasn’t.

The trailer gives pretty much the entire story, so I think it’s probably more enjoyable if you don’t watch it. The male characters were a little thin, but other than that… pacing, etc was decent enough for an evening w/ the old lady.

Also caught this the other day, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Cool story and animation, but can be slow and could use more action. I wouldn’t mind seeing it updated in movie form with more violence.

So… I saw The Purge. What a piece of shit. Did anyone like it?

Saw Godzilla this weekend. It was good but not great. It’s better if you don’t know what Godzilla is. You’ll be waiting a little for him to appear.

I saw the new x flick last night. Enjoyable over all Singer fixed X3 which I thought was impossible. Without giving away spoilers I’d give it a solid 7

I give it a 9. I’m watching it again today.
