Even More Movies You've Watched This Week II

Beorn’s human form in Hobbit II was fucking retarded. They should have just made him a big huge burly man, not some lanky inbred bastard.

Also there were several parts where I was having to fight the urge to scream at the screen “STOP TAKING THE GODDAMN RING OFF THERE’S A FUCKING DRAGON RIGHT THERE”

Those were really my only nitpicks though. Evangeline Lilly was my favorite part of the movie.

They should have gotten someone who looked like Doug Young to play Beorn.

Rotten Tomatoes is riddled with snooty maggots who aspire to be equally sniffy professional movie critics. It’s entirely your prerogative if you want to judge the worth of a movie on ‘popular’ opinion. I prefer not to.

Beorn wasn’t on screen long enough to make an impact, but yeah, he should’ve been a literal bear of a man. He was the last Skinwalker so he should have looked capable of kicking orc backside in either form.

Tauriel…because she’s worth it.

Starbuck - A French-Canadian gem about a serial sperm donor who finds himself at the center of the biggest paternity lawsuit in history. It’s dark, funny and moving. Don’t wait for the remake starring Vince Vaughan.

Behind the Candelabra- face lifts and all expose of Lee Liberace’s backstage exploits as seen through the eyes of blond-haired ‘ingenue’ Scott Thorsen. Liberace is depicted as a weird and terrifying hybrid of Dr. Frankenstein, Pygmalion and God in his attempts to shape Thorsen in his own image.

Saw the kids animated film Tangled (Rapunzel)with my little niece over Christmas. Haven’t seen any of these films since maybe Toy story and was taken a back at the quality of animation, colour and scenery. Just sensational.

Story was standard Disney fare but also had some quick witted asides for the adults. Pretty good original musical score also

Prisoners…really enjoyed lots of cool surprises and twists. Could have been 30 min shorter.
Don Jon …Big fan of Levitt but this movie was horrible, and those accents were ridiculously over done

I just got to watching Frozen (Snow Queen) a couple of days ago, really pleased at how good it was. It feels kind of strange to not really hear all too much about these newer Disney productions considering the quality they’ve been upholding. I think Brave is the only one of these that I ever really heard talk of, and it might even be my least favourite of the three. Hard to have as much flair to them as the old Disney classics, but they most assuredly deserve the recognition.

Going to see 47 Ronin this afternoon.

Roy have you heard or seen anything about it?

No I’m not even a fan of the genre, but I still had an enjoyable experience.

Let us know how it is. I love Asian movies. Was excited when I heard they were making this but was a little miffed that they chose Keanu for the lead. Similar to how I was mad about Tom Cruise being the last fucking samurai.

Regardless, it is a great story and would love to hear if it is any good.

“Out of the Furnace” was excellent. The acting and cinematography were superb.

Woody Harrelson’s character was pure evil.

The violence was so realistic and downright palpable.

The film moved slowly but it was refreshing and allowed the characters and the plot to develop in a believable manner.

two thumbs up
I agree. I thoroughly enjoyed that movie.

The World’s End

Didn’t like it as much as the reviews, but the script was pretty damn great at times
I laughed out loud quite a bit. Though did not really like the ending. But funny overall none the less.
