Shocking performance from England. Rooney had a terrible game. Ashley Cole had one of the worst of his life, barely retained possession all night. Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Terry, Lescott and especially Joe Hart tonight all had a good tournament. Just not enough though. With Walcott on all game it could have been a different story, Young was terrible yet again.

we were soo poor. Showed a bit of promise in the first half but we looked tired by the 60th minute. We didnt have a clue. Disgraceful, to think that our proffessional athletes looked in such bad shape compared to Italy.
I wonder if we will ever get it, i seriously doubt it
Good luck to Italy but this is Germanys tournament [/quote]
well, historically we have always kicked German butt in world championship games …
btw I have to admit that without a great effort of genius of our ball-artists (Cassano,Pirlo,Balotelli and DiNatale) it will be a tough game…
Really, really weak performance from England overall…I thought 15-20 minutes in: If we continue playing like this we’ll win, maybe even by a fairly decent margin. Though, as time wore on we became more & more defensive & ineffectual in possession. Shame, same old shit, different tournament!!
Looking forward to the remaining games though, should be some good stuff.

This.
I was really surprised that the team from the toughest league in the world got run into the ground by the oldest team in the tourney. I don’t know how the Italians are going to be able to recuperate fast enough to stand a chance against Germany.
^^ bump
Forza Italia!
very entertaining match, and I like the outcome, finally the krauts are out!
I don’t think they’ll win the final against Spain though.
Germany got waxed last night and the media is tearing Low a new a-hole this morning. Sour grapes big time.
Azzurro,
il pomeriggio è troppo azzurro
e lungo per me.
Mi accorgo
di non avere più risorse,
senza di te,
e allora
io quasi quasi prendo il treno
e vengo, vengo da te,
ma il treno dei desideri
nei miei pensieri all’incontrario va.
As a American with Italian ancestry I’m still in! Forza Italia!
I’ve been made to eat my words, Germany didnt play how they normally do and Italy took full advantage. Good on them!! i have always liked Italy and with a half Italian wife i gotta support them lol
Might put some big money on Italy to win, they earned me a few quid when they won the world cup so lets hope they beat Spain.
Lets just hope Spain dont play a really boring game, i have actually got to a point where i dont like watching them
Damnit.
Dam.
I dont like Spain, and I dont like Italy.

It will be a boring final a repeat of Portugal v Spain only worse! Penalties will decide it! Who? No idea.

That game against Portugal was brutally boring.
Spain literally couldn’t be more boring considering their squad, I’m glad Italy weren’t as boring this time round though, hopefully they both somewhat try and attack the final…

This is the best thing to come out of Italy.
let’s do this Italy, very dominating performance. I don’t follow soccer much, but have gotten into watching Chelsea this year, and in the past always rooted for Italy.
How are their chances against Spain? I mean, maybe Germany just had an off night, but Italy looked damn good.

Good question JF.
The game will be interesting as it will be a clash of style. Spains possesion style vs Italy’s tactical prowess with Pirlo running the show. For the sake of football, I hope that Italy wins. Will depend on Balotellis mood at the time and also hopefully Italy doesnt sit back and let Spain play the ball in triangles for 90 minutes.

Very good. Spain hasn’t been very convincing and Portugals “forechecking” (what is that called in football?) destroyed their build-up. Italy showed that they can do the same against a team as good as Germany and that they know how to score. It makes for an interesting final.
Looking forward to the final tonight…I reckon if Spain start with either Torres or Llorente up front they’ll have a touch too much for the Italians…if they stick with their usual strikerless attack…weeeeelll…I dunno, could be very, very close in both performance & result!
Italiaaaaaaaaaa!!!
