Norway are offcourse not in this time around also, so I have a hard time giving a flying fuck, but I saw
the match beetwen denmark and the netherlands and it was a good game and I actually found myself routing
for my danish brothers and where actually genuinly glad when they won. Besides that I havent watched shit.

Ps. I think Norway havent been a part of a EC since 2000 and a WC since 1998. They havent done anything great since they beat Brazil in 98 and got a Bronze in the OL in Berlin 1936 Lol. Fuck we suck.[/quote]

Better stick to cross-country skiing I guess.

haha typical English response, still makes me chuckle

I think England have a decent chance this time round, Portugal have woken up and look dangerous on the counter attack, but i hate to say it but i just cant see anyone beating ‘ze Germans’

That’s the feeling everyone seems to have, though Germany looks a lot less convincing yesterday, definitely far from unbeatable. I feel England would struggle against Spain far more.

im not sure about England struggling against Spain. I think teams have worked Spain out, they are still good but i think we will be better prepared against them if we play them.

will be good games tonight, I will be cheering on Croatia cos i want Spain out! and Italy as the missus is half Italian

Good luck to England and France tomorrow.

Big shame for Sweden but as I heard someone say the other day, they’re only good with flat pack furnitures (Ikea) and winning Eurovision (Abba and Loreen, amongst others). Lol.

Anyway, England to beat Ukraine. As long they manage to pass the ball and work on their defence, they can win their last game in the group. And I shall expect some monkey chants and bananas and flares thrown onto the pitch by the Eastern Europeans of course.

Spain to kick Croatia’s ass and, Ireland… well, looks like they have no chance against Italy but who knows? Italy’s been disappointing in this tournament, so I will not be surprised if Ireland manages to put a little bit of pressure on them.

this tournament has been great so far, no 0-0 draws and lots of action. But two things bother me. The reffing has been a bit suspect, some games havent been flowing as much and some dodgy decisions. But the major thing that bothers me is the new ‘head to head’ rule in the group stage.
It seems to only work when it suits certain teams. At one point Italy were top of their group despite 2 other teams having better goal difference than them. If Italy beat Ireland 10-0 it would only take Spain and Croatia to draw 2-2 for Italy to go OUT! Russia got stitched up as they had better goal difference but cos they lost to Greece Russia went home!
It doesnt encourage attacking football at all as goal difference used to count, but it doesnt always count in this tournament.

Uefa need to look at this

COME ON ENGLAND!!

Agree with the above, stupid rule. Anything to stop defensive, boring football should be encouraged (disband Seria A anyone?). It’s no wonder American’s still struggle to truly appreciate the game.

England can 100% do it tomorrow, but I really want them to actually lay down a marker and put in a more convincing performance then Spain did today.

Most ppl in America dont like soccer because of the flopping, and flailing around like theyve been shot. It drives me insane

It annoys me too. I don’t play like that but I have to assume they are told by coaches to take advantage of any time a penalty/free kick can possibly be awarded and go down easily. Funny how much of a contrast Rugby is, which is of course also huge over here.

Croatia is out, after a 88th minute goal by world champions Spain.

Oh well, atleast Birdy can get some sleep now.

LOL! I think they’ll enjoy letting off some steam by crushing them. Hope to see Merkel in the stands.

Merkel won’t be there. She will probably still be trying to get over the snubbing she received yesterday at the G20 meeting.

The whole EM to date has been full of surprises, and the Greeks are keeping everybody on their toes at the moment.

Cant wait to see Germany steamroll Greece.

Like to see it to, but the Danes showed in the last match against Germany just how to deal with the German offence. They played almost man-to-man for most of the game, and the Germans couldn’t use their speed in attacking.

The Greeks really did good against the Russian offence, and I think that the Germans are going to have a hard time, even if two of the Greek starters are out on yellows.

I thought the NBA had poor officiating, there were 2 off sides missed, and that ball was clearly over the line. Hell of a save by hart for getting a piece of it and terry for clearing the ball.

2-0 against France, dominating the game against a good team. Nice way to exit the tournament.
And that volley:

Yep. Never have I seen such average displays win a group. The good news is Rooney actually has another game to hopefully show some brilliance, all we need is one really special game from him and we could be headed to semi’s. Italy are good, but I’m very glad we’re not facing Spain, they are due to have a killer performance after being so average on Monday.
