I have some pretty good indications that I may have estrogen dominance, and I was curious if any suggestions on how to attack this issue. I am NOT doing any sort of cycle, but figured those in this forum would have the best suggestions.
A little background. I have been working out hard and often since January. Good mix of heavy lifting and HIIT. My diet is in fantastic shape. I am no stranger to the gym, but Just got my ass back into the gym from a 3 year “break”.
My problem is this. Diet is dialed in, along with my training schedule. And I am having a BITCH of a time dropping fat. I mean, my metabolism sucks. Recently I was placed on Armour Thyroid because I have Hypothyroid “sympotms” but I am still betting on estrogen dominace. I have plenty of fat to lose, and can’t get success.
Would some sort of Estrogen blocker help? What would be a good starting dose? Any suggestions? Thanks.
I do have a thyroid problem. I was placed on a starting does of 30 mg of armour Thyroid ( that is a nature HOG thyroid - prescription only - contains BOTH T4 and T3.
I am to call in my basal body temperature each month, and they keep increasing the dose until I *feel better and * body temperature rises.
Right now, I am at 95.5 - 96.5 F when waking… way below normal. So, the thyroid is a problem. But, I have also read that Estrogen Dominace can CAUSE thyroid issues. I figured while I am hammering this thyroid issue out ( getting the correct dose can take a long time ) I might as well look at blocking estrogen. I KNOW i have high estrogen. I carry fat in my stomach and have man boobs.
Any suggestions as the best way to lower estrogen, or is this a bad idea for some reason? I see many guys that take estrogen blockers after a cycle… would it do any good for me to take something similar for a short period to see if it helps?
High estrogen and stubborn fat can be a bit of a Catch-22 situation. Fat is where the t aromatizes to e, and high e leads to easy fat formation and poor fat mobilization.
One way out of this dilemma is to force your body to use more fat as fuel, by cutting down your carbs. There are a number of different ways, ranging from Atkins to anabolic diet, to various other carb cycling regimes. Seek advice on the supplements and nutrition forum.

well, if you’re already under medical treatment, have them check your estrogen levels (like sated before).
i wouldn’t mess with an anti-E on your own, though, since you do have medical proffessionals trying to iron things out for you. it might tweak their results, and i think they’d be pretty pissed if they found out.
peosnally, i think you’re prolly right, but i’d go talk to the doc and see where that takes you.

Get your E and E2 levels checked before trying any type of Estrogen blocker. In fact, get every hormone test possible before trying to correct what you think might possibly be wrong with you. Chances are your E2 is too high, but without knowing the level, the Estrogen Blocker or AI and the dosage is just a random guess. Why screw around when you can be a lot more precise?
I went to a lab and got my levels for T, T2, E, and E2 and took the results to a doc. He insisted on a full and complete hormone panel. Turns out I had high E2 AND low thyroid and am now taking medication to correct both.
