Erection Problems Before/After TRT

Wanted to hear everyone’s experiences with ED or weak erections/morning wood before/after TRT. I hear a ton about libido improving on TRT but often don’t hear much about erections. In my case with borderline low T I almost never have morning wood, and during sex it’s difficult to maintain an erection and it’s definitely only about 65-70% hard. I’ve read people saying they were much lower than me but didn’t have erection problems.

Please share your experiences regarding ED before and after TRT!

Thanks

Could get a semi decent erection with a woman before TRT, but very difficult to maintain. Rarely morning wood.

Post TRT, always great morning wood. Erections are the same as above unfortunately.

I got erections prior to TRT, my issue was never erections. It was libido due to how low my T was. Now that I’m on TRT I get erections all the time. I usually get really intense morning wood. During sex with my girl my erections are generally pretty hard and as of right now I’m having sex about 2-3 times per day with her.

Elections are complicated and have a lot to do with your overall health. T levels can help increase frequency, however if there are other health issues that are causing issues with blood flow this will stifle and impede strong erections.

You also need the “arousal” signal from your brain to work in order to get one.

This is where many of us have issues. It’s about dopamine receptor signaling, among other things.

Good point roscoe. But isn’t that where free T comes into play? I thought your T more specifically your free T level is what gets you aroused and causes that signal to be sent to the brain to flow blood to get an erection? Correct me if I’m wrong on that. But that was my understanding

That’s what I’m hoping for by increasing my FT up high. It’s been around 194 (35-155) and I still haven’t had much arousal. Some believe it should be closer to 300 or higher, using this reference range.

When I was on 300mg every 2 weeks, I did feel some arousal at times. Looking back I wish I had paid attention more, as it must’ve been a couple days post shot, where FT would’ve peaked.

Pre T libido and erections were just ok and I would lose erection during the act occasionally. Post T libido was off the charts strong and erections were still just ok with occasional loss of erection still. Added in low dose tadalafil 2.5mg daily and libido is still off the charts and erections are outstanding morning, noon, or night. Also helps greatly with minor bph issues I have. TRT alone does not solve it all on every person…sometimes a little extra help is needed!

My free T is consistently between 27-30ng/dL.

Aren’t these the levels dbossa was advocating?

Again, what’s your protocol (apologies if I already asked)

I am on 60mg T/Cyp E3.5D. I use HCG 300iu E3.5D. Total T trough last labs 878. My SHBG is 35 and E2 was 43 on last labs.

Nice numbers.

Is that the FT levels dbossa and yeti were advocating? I remember “30” but cannot remember the measurement… I think it was ng/dl

EDIT: pretty sure it was. Those are great FT numbers you’re getting from that protocol. I was on a similar one (50mg/e3d) about a year ago and only got to about 17 FT or so.

I got a little nauseated with that thread and stopped following it. I think the comment was most of their “group” did not see benefit of TRT until they achieved at least 30 ng/dL. I feel pretty darn good between 27-30. I am a Defy patient and the doc is good with my numbers and total blood panels at this point.

Fingers crossed I will too.

I am only prescribed 150mg per week, but I have a large stock pile ive been hoarding that I can play around with.

If indeed I get some libido in the upper FT range, and it’s bc I have to go beyond 150mg/week, I think I can convince dr to up my dose.

Anything beyond 200mg per week though wouldn’t fly I’m sure.

Was hoping more folks would chime in, anybody else?
