Epoxy Floor Paint

Has anyone ever applied this themselves? Was it difficult? Did it hold up well? I am finishing our basement(laundry and utility) and we are trying to decide between the epoxy floor paint and linoleum. I am leaning toward the epoxy floor paint but have some concerns about making errors.

Make sure you follow the directions well. We have some that was applied incorrectly at work and it is an ugly mess.

I did it for my weight room at home and it was really easy. Follow the directions like Testy1 said. Also make sure the floor is very clean. There was a stain on the floor so now it is encased forever in the middle of the room. As far as durability goes, I applied two separate layers so I could deadlift on it and I haven’t noticed any wear after 4 years.

Make sure you follow the directions to a “t”. Last year myself and friends painted a floor with a three part epoxy paint and it turned into a sticky mess which refused to cure. In our defense we were in China and the writing was in Chinese and the directions we were given were incorrect. It stayed tacky enough that a gecko pulled its leg off while trying to walk across it in the night.

Damn yo… I don’t wanna lose a leg.

Epoxy rocks. Just follow the instructions well.

I used epoxy on my garage floor and it came out very well. I’ll echo what everyone said about following directions. But especially pay attention to the prep involved. If the instructions say to etch the concrete floor, then etch it.

The finish will only be as good as the prep.

Good way to keep those heels down while squatting.

Yes, for sure. Wouldn’t advise squatting barefoot on it though.
