I used what are called “seismic ties” and construction adhesive ---- because we have earthquakes and the occassional grad missle, not hurricanes in Israel. Really anything would work. Deck screws at an angle and wood glue. They are not load bearing.

Look for something that you won’t be able to see and that will help you cheat into making the rafters square to the beam.

I think you would be able to see a hurricane tie. Maybe paint it first, then touch up after you install.

Hurricane ties have the advantage of being nailed, not screwed, so they go quicker. (Screws have a weaker sheer strength in this particular application.)

Wanted to stay away from the hurricane ties secondary to aesthetics.

When you say not to notch, are you referring to the header beams into the posts? If I understand you correctly, you would “sandwich” the 6x6 post between the 2 header boards and bolt this together as opposed to notching the posts for the header boards to rest before bolting?

I didn’t knotch anything — there are purpose-built corner pieces that look ornamental where you can join beams (horizontal) to polls (verticle). Most decking places have them. I drilling out places for the bolts, kept the plug, and after joining, glued the wooden plug back to hide the bolts.

I think my English is failing above.

Same concept for the rafters — you can, with some looking, find brackets or corner pieces that are invisible from below.
