Hey everyone, so i guess i should start out with some background information so you can decide on what to suggest. I am turning 16 very soon, been working out (not very seriously) since i was 13, and about last year i have been starting to lift more often (5times a week), and more free weights. Within the last 4 months, i have become a lot more serious, i have been taking Whey 100% Gold Standard after workouts.
My diet, please don’t even ask me about that, is pretty healthy but I’m not eating probably not over 2000 calories a day… maybe even less. I don’t eat a lot of snacks, trying to convince my parents into getting more healthier snacks, and i notice for the last few months of actually lifting lifting, i have bad energy. I want to buy some energy sort of mix, or drink that i can take before a workout.
Today i went to GNC and looked at a bunch of products such as:
N.O Xplode
Super Pump 250
SizeOn
MyoFusion
Black Powder
Please post back, i am going back to GNC on Wednesday, or Thursday whenever the lady gets a new shipment in she said i could get samples. So want to make a decision by the Friday of what to buy.

This is your problem and an energy supplement won’t solve it.
Besides, all the products you listed are ridiculous for someone your age and likely training history.

Yeah, i understand that i need to eat more. By healthy, i mean i am having a good amount of fruits a day, and meat and veggies. But i am not eating a lot of it, 3 meals a day, hardly even snacks every. I do drink a good 2L of water though, but i still feel very hungry during the day though.
I just wanted to see if any products i listed would be good for a energy boost before a workout.
There are a lot of variables when it comes to energy. Caffeine is like putting a band-aid on a shotgun wound when your body is already dragging ass everyday.
I’d be more interested in how much you’re sleeping than which cool, new (shitty) supplement you think will help you.

Alright, well i have been asking people at the gym (between ages 18-in their 20’s) and they have recommended pre-workout drinks which is why i ask here.
To answer your question about sleep, i generally fall asleep around 11:00 a.m, and wake up 6:50 a.m in the morning for school.

The average person in a fitness center/gym isn’t someone I’d ask for advise since most of them look the same year after year.
Why not spend that money on some whey instead? Throw in some sugar and you have a cheap pre-workout “energy booster” that will actually do something for you.
I would suggest starting with a post workout protein shake. I would imagine that the extra calories would translate into more energy for the next day (once you get used to increase in calories) and the protein would help with muscle building. At your age I would avoid any additional suppliments.

I went from being a total caffeine junkie to barely consuming any when I lift by doing this. I think poverty is the mother of invention, not necessity

If you’re hungry and low on energy, why don’t you try eating more food?
