Emotional Attachment to a Cat

Cool. Thanks

Actual thing currently happening–I lost one of my cats earlier this year and the remaining cat became much more affectionate. Lost my dog on Saturday, which the cat was also very friendly with. Now she has become crazy affectionate and when we let her in she runs all over the house looking and meowing for the dog.

I legitimately can’t decide if the OP is metaphorical, or literal.

We have discussed Machiavelli, and Nietzsche, but perhaps we should be talking about Freud.

Sometimes a cat is just a cat.

I think in this situation it is just a cat. The way it is written, it could be taken a few different directions. I am not surprised that OP hasn’t replied to any of us.

I just wanted to abuse the Freud quote.

@SkyzykS My sympathies.

I thought the OP was very strange (obviously), but I thought it was literal. Disagree with people shitting on his thread.

OP: why don’t you lure the cat into a box with an intricate vial of poison set up to go off at a random moment?

If you never open the box, you’ll never know whether the cat is alive or dead and therefore never have to mourn it.

Glad to see I’m not the only kindle user.

I prefer physical copies since I like to highlight and take notes, but the kindle is so cheap.

You’re a far better student than me. I just lack the space for hard copies and the patience to wait for delivery.

You a nihilist… irrelevant but check this out (film is very nihilistic in nature, but is otherwise weird garbage)…

I’m not a nihilist but I very much understand that why one would harbor such ideology regarding outlook on life… esp in todays world (granted the world has always been fucked up)

Nah. Closest would be an absurdist, but even still

You do seem like a rather zany character (this is a compliment) given some of you’re responses. There have legitimately been times I’ve navigated through these threads, seen one of you’re more comical answers and burst out laughing in a room by myself (or with others, then they’re like “unreal24278, what the fuck”)

I recall you saying these comments/answers aren’t premeditated, you come up with them on the spot… I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, give stand up comedy a crack… perhaps it’ll be something you’re very good at

I appreciate the sentiment. I have had a few others share similar with me. As it stands, the pay and benefits for comedy makes it unappealing to me, especially with a family to support. Maybe something I look into when I retire.

Damn. Schrodingers cat. I laughed so hard.

Still laughing

Damn, thanks man
