i dont know what you guys are trying to argue; price or the given time for trends. if its price then please tell me what the difference between spending

$60 on a dress shirt
$100 dollars on “nice jeans”
$200 on hand made leather shoes

and

$60 on a thermal print shirt
%100 on “nice jeans”
$200 on Nike Dunks

both come to the same price so wtf? the only difference is the style which is an individual ting.

if its the length of styles you guys are arguing…first, you dont know how long the trend/style will last for it could be a year it could be 5. if you buy a dress shirt and a jacket and some leather shoes you arent saving any more money than if you bought a monarchy shirt and some true religion jeans because either way you aint going to be wearing the same shit every time you go out…at least i hope yall dont go out wearing the same sports jacket you had for 5 years every time lmao.

good thing for me is i switch my styles around. i wear collard shirts, vintage jeans & whatever kind of shirts you want to call those, and urban-indie clothes aswell. and since Boston banned 18+ clubs i can go clubbing with just a t-shirt (a nice one), some jeans, and some fresh nikes.
The point I’m trying to argue is that(considering you don’t shrink or grow too much)that shirt and jacket will still be acceptable to wear in 5, 10, or hell 20 years from now and you will still look like a stud wearing it. Virtually anything tailored that is of decent quality will last you a lifetime. And can even be adjusted slightly based on your changing body(except the shoulders, can’t alter that).

It’s all how you interpret it as an investment. And your fashion sense I guess. I guess I wouldn’t spend a great deal of money on something that wouldn’t be appropriate to wear for a long length of time.

That’s just my opinion I guess. And keep in mind an opinion of a guy whose closet is full of concert tour t-shirts and a selection of formal wear. I like to roll on the opposite sides of the spectrum ya know?

I was about to say us grown ups get nice clothes from people know as tailors, but you beat me to it.
As for spending big bucks on t shirts and jeans, I think it’s just silly.

I thought the stuff at emoda looked okay. I’d get a pair of the jeans for example. the stuff at the other site just looked shitty.

i have shirts from when i was 16 that still fit me.

as far as new stuff goes when i do buy clothes i get them at BR.

no, because i cant afford it lol. but there are Nikes which go as high as $350…i was just making a contrast between styles while keeping the prices in line.

my shoe game is actually hurting =(

people in the 70s spend tons of money on bellbottoms and those dress shirts with the massive collars on them. they look retarded now.

some people spent that same money on a leather jacket, or a plain dress shirt, or a tailored simple suit. and you can still wear that shit today without looking like an inconsistant tool

Just what i think.

Some spoiled rich boys…

True, but beside the point. Like I said, most people aren’t buying trendy/fashionable/whatever-you-want-to-call-them clothes with the intention of wearing them thirty years from now.

Different circles, my friend. That’s all.

does anyone have any links to clothes sites that sell relatively inexpensive (~$30 t-shirts) but decently stylish clothing?

80spurple.com and karmaloop.com are nice ones but is there any more?

ty.

you might like thebuckle.com ? they have a laid back clothing selection, between skater & vintage

i ordered from them once and had a problem because the shirts i ordered came out looking totally different when i recieved them than how they looked on the site. for instance one had a lot of silver foil on it and the other i thought was gray when it turned out to be light blue with a lot of yellow.

just to note, if you think that the suits which were in style during the 1970s are still in style today you are sadly mistaken.
i dont know about you guys but i feel a certain zest and boost in confidence/self-esteem when i have on fresh new clothes (also known as swagger). plus clothes nt only tend to go out of style but they also get dirty, damaged, stained, torn etc and buying clothes is something you just have to do. so you may have to spend $30 on a shirt (gasp!) or $100 on jeans from time to time…and dont even get into shoes with all the creasing and getting messed up…but thats the price you have to be to be fashionable and look good, and i think its worth it. plus not EVERY piece of clothing has to be expensive you can get some cheaper stuff and some more expensive stuff and put them together and still look good.

today i worse a $25-30 shirt, $50 jeans i got on sale, some black Timbs…which are my brothers (cause it was raining) and a black coat my brother got from DYS (think kiddie-jail) and i still looked fresh. oh and i gotta mention the Burberry “London” cologne as the “cherry on top” hahaha

link dont work, brah.

its honestly amazing to me how upset ppl get just because ppl have different takes on fashion and style… i dont get it

also livefromthe781 … are u black?

no, what would make you say that?

i wear the same pair of jeans everyday. Period. I also wear a T-shirt with it that I more than likely bought at JC-penny’s for $10. I’m also going to come out of college debt-free. Just something to think about.
unless you wash every day that’s dirty as hell.
you can get like 5x white tees for 20$
and jeans for like under 25.
spending 100-200 dollars on some clothes won’t kill you.

cmon guys a pair of jeans can go a week if you dont spill shit on them, shirts twice (once good, another day around the house/workout) underwear can be worn forewards, then backwards, then inside out both ways too!

its all about thinking “outside” the box

that type of thinking will definately keep you outside “the box”.

as long as i keep access to my girlfriends box thats okay.

im kidding with the underwear thing
