Embarrassed Movie-Watcher

Now, I’m going to go one step further with this online confessional, and not only say that I like Moulin Rouge, I will challenge you dudes to check it out for yourselves… despite the estrogenicity risk of liking something similar to a musical. "

I own Moulin Rouge dvd and sound track, I also have Chicago to go along with it. There is a dvd set out there I think it is the red curtain trilogy or something like that, but it has Moulin Rouge, Chicago, and another movie made by the same people.

I also own the Heavy Metal DVD!!!
(for those of you who dont know its a 1970s cartoon, about sex, death, world domination, and what eles metal)

Yeah!

Best lines:

“Eighteen years, nothin’. And now twice in one day!”
(John Candy playing a T-Man, believe it…or not.)

“Look, man, if there’s one thing I know, it’s how to drive while I’m stoned.”

Ahhh, the memories.

How about Princess Fiona from Shrek, that’s a T-chick.

I have a couple brutal movies that I must admit I like…“Killer Klowns from Outer Space” and “The Legend of Billie Jean”. Helen Slater was smoking hot in her day.

Lilo & Stitch

I’ll watch “In The Army Now” whenevery it’s on… now that’s embarrassing… I dont know why but I think Pauly Shore is so f-in’ funny in that movie I’ve probably seen it, no shit, like 30 times,…

" Is it Hot in Chad"

When Harry Met Sally & The Notebook.

My wife always makes fun of me for liking some of the best classics:

Goonies
Stand By Me
The Lost Boys

I’m not embarrassed by these at all, but my wife’s embarrassed for me. She just doesn’t get it.

Obviously, she doesn’t understand good cinema. All three of those are classics.

I liked Red Dawn too even though I haven’t seen it in years.

Breakin’ 2 - Electric Boogaloo

True cinematic art.
There was a time in the late nineties when I ran all around Denver, CO trying to track down that movie, “Beat Street” and “Breakin’”.
Electric Boogaloo, starring Boogaloo Shrimp, you know what’s up. Now it’s out on DVD, so you guys have no excuse. I had to watch a Thai subtitled pirated VHS from an Asian Grocery store.

Best bad movies ever:

Road House
Doc: Your file says you’ve got a degree from NYU. What in?
Dalton: Philosophy.
Doc: Any particular discipline?
Dalton: No. Not really. Man’s search for faith. That sort of shit.
Doc: Come up with any answers?
Dalton: Not too many.
Doc: How’s a guy like you end up a bouncer?
Dalton: Just lucky I guess.

Over the Top (Never has a movie been more aptly named)
Bob ‘Bull’ Hurley: I drive truck, break arms, and arm wrestle. It’s what I love to do, it’s what I do best.

Commando
Matrix: Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last?
Sully: That’s right, Matrix. You did.
Matrix: I lied.

I spent several of my formative years watching as many crap movies as my brain could digest.

10 Things I Hate About You

Best of the Best 1

Granted the movie isn’t that embarrassing. What is embarrassing is the way that I cry like a freaking toddler at the end every time. When the beat up Korean guy limps over and says ?I offer myself as your brother,? I just lose it. If that doesn?t get to you, you have no heart!

What gets me every time is when Eric Roberts has his shoulder dislocated, Tommmy resets it only for Eric to show the heart of a warrior and stay in the match to gain those crucial points. Roberts sells the scene from start to finish

Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves and the Red-Hot Chili Peppers. I should be ashamed, but I love it.
NOTHING to be embarrased about. One of the greatest movies of all time.

DD

WEll it’s not a movie, but I like “The OC”. How come TC always bashes it?

DD

The lion king, best disney movie ever. Mars Attacks was the best comedy, cracks me up.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Just don’t get caught singing-a-long to " I’m just a sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania."

Space Balls. The first dvd I ever bought.
There’s nothing wrong with the Rocky. I played Brad for a long time in VA Beach.

The bannister’s lucky!

I loved 10 things… and Ilsa (mentioned ealier). I don’t get embarassed by what I watch. I like/love most of the movies listed (but glitter? come on…). My tastes do tend to embarass my wife. I love a good romantic comedy (serindipity and love actually were good mentions) but I also like bad ones. I like to watch the made for ABCFamily movies (I want to marry ryan banks, Pizza my heart, etc.)

I also love Horror movies, good, bad it doesn’t matter I’ll watch them all (just saw Santa’s Slay on Spike starring Goldberg). I will pull out and watch stuff like Nightmare on Elm Street 5 or Phantasm 3 countless times (yes, I do own them all). One summer I made a point to watch every movie in the horror section of the local video stores.

NOt one movie that I like is embarassing. If I am embaressed by anything it would be the vast quantity of bad movies I love.

A ways back there where a couple that were questionable but cool at the time.

1)The Dark Crystal
2)Willow

I’ve seen a few Sponge Bob’s in my time.
