Electoral Politics: A Losing Game

Please explain to me how the U.S. can run out of dollars.

Money is infinite? Good talk.

Edit: Let me elborate:
Let’s say your dad walks into The SpankDome and gives you a bill he prints, valued ā€œOne Hand Job from the Girl of Your Choice.ā€ You take it to Hangela, the Blind, Homeless Lady Who Lives in a Van Down By The River, and get a hand job. You go home and say to yourself, ā€œHer hand was kind of rough and calloused, but that was pretty good.ā€ You then get on your dad’s computer and print up another Hand Job note. You go back to Hangela. She knows the bill you gave her is worth nothing, so she doesn’t accept the next one. The Hand Job note that, in its heyday, was worth one hand job, has been devalued to the point of worthlessness. You can print as many as you want, and they’re still worthless.

You said it yourself, it can’t create currency it issues it. By your logic, the government could print $30T worth of bills to pay off the debt with no consequences. However, since people have logic and would go ā€œhow the hell did all this money get injected all of a sudden when GDP didnt increase?ā€ and those people and retailers (who are, as you say, currency users) would lose faith in the value of the dollar and would no longer accept it for what its worth - leading to; surprise, surprise, massive inflation (kind of like we are seeing now). Fiat currency only works when people believe the money has value.

Just inject about 4 trillion in fake money into the economy as one wills…

Wait, Congress did that the last 2 years and now we are pushing 9% inflation and stagnant wages…imagine that.

It is almost like the ā€œdogmaticā€ rules of economics actually apply in real life. The problem with people with his views is they don’t live in reality and it is always someone who really has nothing and has seen nothing of the world.

I bet if they’d consulted with @castoli first, he could have shown them how to do it better.

@castoli Do you really believe there is no limit to the amount of money the government can print with no negative ramifications? I’m really hoping you just haven’t explained yourself well.

Doesnt money grow on tree’s, lol

Fiat currency has value because it is needed. What else can you pay a tax liability with? Gold? Bitcoin? Go ahead and try it and let me know how it went.

How is creating currency and issuing it different?

Just another person who doesn’t understand how inflation is created. Thinks money causes inflation. How uneducated. Keep highlighting your ignorance.

I feel sorry for how ignorant you are. If only it just affected you, but it doesn’t and that is the truly sad part.

How ignorant can one person be? just go back to your bedroom that is spattered with My pillow Guy posters.

Money is affected by resources. Get it? Probably not. Still thinking along the gold standard parameters even though it’s been 50 years since we’ve been on one.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
