Electoral Politics: A Losing Game

The feds borrow from various creditors. Hence why national debt sky rocketed over the last decade +. Break it down to a smaller scale. If I was able to issue my own currency with no consequences as you describe my debt would quickly go to zero because I would just pay off my creditors with devalued money. I wouldn’t carry a debt burden.

It doesn’t change the fact that federal and state level entities can’t budget to save their own asses.

The name implies a federal level program since currently medicare is a federal level thing loosely tied to SS.
Again, government entities (at all levels) are generally quite inefficient.

The current state of healthcare in the US is in definite need of overhaul (I have a chronic disease so definitely spend a crap ton on health care every year). There is no question about that. M4A is not a viable answer.

I will have better luck winning a tennis match against a wall then trying to change this bonkers viewpoint.

The people that profit.

We’re not(entirely), but may be relative to many others.

Yep. Or do you mean, “No. Capitalism leads to monopolies and oligopolies?” In that case, you’re wrong.

Is it because of all the unhealthy Americans who need more healthcare?

America is also lazy and wants a pill or surgery to fix anything instead of actually making lifestyle changes to better their health.

Higher costs don’t surprise me.

Likely a contributing factor.

I was bullshitting.

And I mean the system of capitalism leads to oligopolies and monopolies. For real.

“We’re citizens we run this country” Is he fucking serious? Surprised it isn’t a video of brave Milton facing down another college student. How impressive! This guy’s theories have been so debunked it says something that you actually uploaded this video.

We borrow are own money?

The federal government doesn’t need to budget their own money. They can’t run out in the same way a sports team can’t run out of points. Resources are scarce not money.

Hhhmmmm…Since we are discussing Medicare, what percentage of cost do they spend on admin. vs. the dynamic private sector?

Don’t worry about your disease. I’m sure Big Pharma will come up with a cure, like they are prone to.

Taxpayers and foreign entities and big banks hold the debt. It’s not just an abstract number as you wish to believe.

From a 2018 article in USA Today

“ Social Security and Medicare are projected to run a staggering $82 trillion cash deficit over the next 30 years.”

Do you know any other entity that can run that way?

Are we not?

It’s okay. He just doesn’t know what money is, so it’s hard to converse with him about it.

I hate taxes as well. I have calculated that 60 percent of my money goes in taxes. And I live in a tax heaven place… Imagine.

But these 40 bilions are well spend trust me. Russia has been bullying Europe for too long now. I am sure most of Europeans are extremelly grateful US is helping that much economically in this war with Russia.

And here is what you get back from it. I will give you an example. Our government got bullied by Gazprom for many years. They had a natural gas monopoly and transit monopoly. After the war they shut our gas down. Our prime minister went to US for help. He got a nice deal with an American company for a natural gas delivery. There is also a Canadian based company whos licence for drilling in our land is looked at again.

So trust me these 40 bils will get their worth back with energy contracts.

Also a weak Russia will only strenghten NATO positions and will improve EU and US relations and trade relations especially in the energy sector.

If someone is working in the petrol energy sector. Please tip your CEO for Burgas and Lukoil. Pretty sure our government if pushed can nationalise the rafinery and sell it to anyone not named Lukoil.

Everything is scarce.

Not so much, when you’re Chief Monkey Spanker in Mom’s Basement.

Bet you feel like this comment was a mistake, now that you know his occupation.

It’s not meant to, unlike every other economic system.

These programs going broke is a choice. The U.S. can always make payments in their own currency. What’s gonna happen the U.S. will run out of dollars?

Do you know any other entity(Fed gov) that can create currency?

You don’t know the difference between a currency issuer and a currency user.

Your envy is showing through, be careful.

But it does. Are you more concerned with intentions OR results?

Yeah to defense contractors, well spent.

Oh you mean how NATO has been expanding, adding nations when they agreed not to.

You may inadvertently have something there.

i’m sure the criminals in Big Oil make enough money.

And you don’t know the difference between a currency issuer and user. Happy to stay in your economic dogma.

We may be citizens but we don’t run the country. Funny how you left out the running part.

Challenging a freckled faced college student who doesn’t know any better.

Articles, one from Forbes magazine, showing the lunacy of Uncle Milton.

Like healthcare?

Not money.
